Price: $279
Color: medium brown with some red hue
Nose: big, nutty like peanut butter, heavy wood funk, oak, carmel, light citrus, dark fruit like plum. Deeply complex.
Palate: medium stature, maple, brown sugar, oaky, cinnemon candy, baking spices all day, hints of citrus, plum, a little hint of mint, well balanced but the proof punches a tad high that it's noticeable at first sip.
Finish: medium finish, oaky, starts solid and slowly dissipates, spices, some char in there, proof ramps up a bit before it finishes off
Overall: this is pretty damn good. It's very well balanced and has that finesse I love in good bourbon. Not a big pour, but a very strong medium pour. While this lot didn't blow me away, I kind of get the hype behind it. It's a great pour. Preservation stays in heavy rotation over here. Shit slaps.
Value: a bit above what I would put it at, but overall, sure get it. You only live once.
Rating: 8.5/10
Price: $150
Color: dark as motor oil
Mash bill: 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley
Nose: big, funk, oak, deeply warm, brown sugar, vanilla, dark cherry, baking spices, has a wine note, kind of a dark chocolate note. This nose is incredible.
Palate: big, instant sweet oak, dark fruit I'm assuming from the wine cask, orange zest, cookie dough notes, amazingly balanced, the proof intensifies all the flavors. Coats my mouth and can almost chew on it.
Finish: long, robust, oak funk, some soft tobacco, char, baking sweetness all around
Overall: WOOOOOOOOOOW. Just fucking wow. I've never had this brand ever in my life and if this is how they do their thing? I'm all in. Big, bold, finesse, sophisticated, deep rich flavors, the wine cask finish is phenomenal. Not overly proofed. It literally hits all the notes I love. It has this deep sweet and oak dance that isn't overly sweet, nor overly oaked. It's just...perfect.
Value: do you have to ask? Well worth $150 and would pay unreasonable amounts for this. Grab yours before I buy the whole stock.

Price: $130
Mash bill: n/a
Nose: medium nose, cinnamon, oak, maybe pie crust notes, some brown sugar, baking spices, cherry notes, warm. Decent nose overall.
Palate: light, rum notes from barrel, soft rye, cinnamon, brown sugar, medium oak, kind of watery, spice
Finish: medium finish, soft, light, some light rye, cinnemon, proof burn. The palate is already soft so the finish is a more watery version of it. Some proof sitting in the back of my throat.
Value: imo, there's plenty better out there for $130
Overall: this really isn't good. It's not bad, but it's just forgettable. Other reviews say is great, I strongly disagree and don't recognize any of the notes they've described. I love rum, but this just misses. For me, too watered down, no boldness that a rye should have. What is the point of a soft rye and a low proof? No point at all. I suppose it's kind of balanced, but nothing remarkable. I keep trying to get into Kentucky Owl and I keep getting let down so I think this is where we part ways until something big changes. I'm talking an overhaul. Not just being picked up by a parent company, but a complete reimagining. I'm bored and disappoint.

Just gonna wait up here until the fireworks start
Price: $420
Age: 6yr 3mo
Nose: big, carmel, baking spices, rye is there but not punching me, cinnamon, not a whole lot of oak. Nose is really good.
Palate: medium body, stone fruit like peach, rye, cane sugar notes on the center of my tongue, oak, maybe raisins but i cant quite identify it as such. A little viscous which is nice. It's warm first and then rye takes over with great accompanying notes I mention before. Also a little mint and peppery.
Finish: medium finish, but a pretty good medium finish. Oaky, rye and proof driving the end, but a litte much based on the flavor profile dropping off. Pretty good though.
Overall: this is solid. Doesn't blow me away, but it's definitely a pretty good pour. It's an entry level BTAC and I guess it drinks as such. When I bought it last year, I bought it regardless of the reviews because I wanted in on the series so no regrets. It was an important moment for me personally. Happy to have it on the shelf. But for anyone reading this? I'd say it's not worth the secondary market price unless you want to build your own BTAC series.
Value: at the price I paid I'd say not the best value, but what are you gonna do if you can't get msrp?

Price: $90
Mash bill: 95% rye, 5% malted barley
Nose: rye, kind of bright, some fruit, oak, baking spices. Clean comes to mind. Really pleasant nose on this.
Palate: medium body, rye, brown sugar, vanilla, oily, herbal, soft oak. Very balanced and kind of sophisticated honestly. It's very easy on the palate while giving me depth and some good brightness with the rye.
Finish: medium-long. Finish starts strong and starts to fade and left with rye and oak. The finish is really an herbal, rye, oak, tobacco finale that's really smooth. Little bit of bitter oak on the palate after it truly ends, but it's enjoyable if you like that kind of note.
Overall: this is really good. Lasso Motel has been my latest sneaky link. It's just so damn smooth and packed with a brighter rye which is not the thing I usually gravitate towards. I love rye and deep beefy notes are my jam, but this is really kind of silky. Just a smooth ass rye.
Design: the bottle design is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼. Top 3 right now.
Value: well worth the price and would pay more for it.

Price: $350
Mash bill: 10 and 15 yr blend
Nose: cherry, carmel, oak funk, leather. Solid nose. Not a big nose, but medium.
Palate: light to medium body, vanilla, oaky, cinnemon, a little perfumy. Kinda burns.
Finish: long finish, thin, tobacco, lots of oak, a little sour and or bitter, heat ramps up without a real need for. Leather. Left with some bitter oak on the sides of my tongue. A bit of a letdown honestly.
Overall: I go into every bottle with an open mind and let the flavor take me where it needs me to go. In the end it dumped me off a bit diappointed. It's not what I would consider well balanced, nor is it hitting the mark for to call it by definition "grand cuvee." Rare Character doesn't really miss, but this is a miss for me. It lacks the finesse. I'll get behind a medium or lighter bourbon, but you gotta sell me on it and it just didn't. I'm still team RC, but this one is a bummer. It's not bad by any means, but it isn't that good either.
Value: I spent $350, but I wouldn't spend more than $100.

I pushed buttons and twisted knobs so it's legit
Price: $135
Mash bill: 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% barley
Nose: warm nose, vanilla, cinnemon, maple, baking spices, soft oak, nutty. Not a big nose, but I like it.
Palate: nutty, brown sugar, vanilla, lots of cinnemon, a bit viscous, medium oak, proof shows itself. Medium on the mouth feel.
Finish: medium finish. Sweetness disappated and the oak really takes over on the finish. Some barrel toast in there on the side of my palate. Slight bitterness from the oak, but I welcome to challenging notes. A little tobacco left lingering.
Overall: this is well balanced and a good solid bottle. It doesn't blow the doors off, but I have definitely enjoyed it. It's a little lighter in boldness than I usually like my pours, but it's no chump. T8ke did a good job with the beginning of this series with The Reveries.
Value: I feel like it's appropriately priced. I wouldn't go more than what I paid so I'd say good value for what it offers.

Beats been sold, but still
Price: $130
Nose: warm rye notes, vanilla, oak, butterscotch, baking spices. Great nose.
Palate: fruity, medium oak, rye, cherry notes, stone fruit, a little oily, and some sweet notes I can't quite put my finger on.
Finish: oaky, long but light at the same time, more stone fruit notes, flavor kind of dissipates, but left with the proof from the sip which is a little underwhelming.
Overall: despite the finish being a little disappointing, this pour is actually pretty damn good. I'm not big on fruit forward bourbons, but the deeper and rich flavors make this bottle well balanced and enjoyable.
Rating: 7.5/10
Price: $180
Nose: bright, fruity, almost a caramelized brown sugar, a potent nose that i usually get with peerless
Palate: sharp spice, vanilla, cognac barrel prominent, somewhat minty, bright
Finish: bright oak, a little bitter, tobacco flavor kicks in at the end, almost numbs my palate
Overall: this bottle is definitely unique. A lot of fruit and obviously cognac notes throughout the experience. Bright. You won't find much of those classic bourbon notes like vanilla, cinnemon and dark sugars like you would with a traditional bourbon. However, if you like something different, it may be worth a shot. Personally, it really doesn't do much for me. I prefer those beefy, full, and deep flavors and this is almost the exact opposite. It's well made, but just not for me.
