Simple MIN-MIA-TOR Trade

Simple MIN-MIA-TOR Trade

Wolves get - A PG that can fit well on this team. The contract isn’t good, but he’ll be a decent player and help table-set.

Raptors get - Off of an unreasonable contract and 30M dollars in expiring money that can be used to take a big swing next season. Plus, Wiggins isn’t a bum.

Heat get - A buy low on someone who has proven to be a good regular season guy. He should look better on a team with a good spacing 5 like Bam. Also, they don’t give away anything actually valuable.

Are there any draft capital needs that should be addressed here?

ATL - MIN

Why Wolves do it - Kicking off the youth Movement, Okongwu will be a valuable, cheapish Role player for a while, and Risacher will either be valuable or off the books quick. The real value is in the 2027 MIL pick, which will be used to draft a prospect that will hopefully help ANT in the long term.

Why ATL do it - Rudy is a defensive monster and solves almost all of their weaknesses instantly. Getting JJ, Dyson, and their 8th pick meaningful playoff minutes is important and this all but guarantees it.

CHI-MIN Wolves send Randle out and get a pick, Chicago gets off an untradable contract with a pick that they 100% know won’t be in the lotto

Ive been floating this idea in my head for a bit.

For the Bulls, this draft probably the only time for a while that they can get off the Patrick Williams contract while being 100% sure that they don’t lose out on a great pick, seeing as the new draft rules extend the lotto to the play in.

For the Wolves, they take a bad contract on to get a decent draft pick and a cool backup PG. Patrick Williams fucking sucks but we can afford it, seeing as our role players are already under contract. This also clears some cap in the short term.

MIN- gets a better, Younger, Overall cheaper second option.

PHX- gets a floor raiser that helps them stay competitive.

(Assume the Contract fuckery works I think it does.)

With Huerter and Harris likely downsizing their deals, and Duren making much less than the max, the Pistons can take some extra money in a deal like this.

Why Wolves do it - Randle is a poor fit for the team and there are players that with more usage could be second options. Getting a high potential young guy and a soft replacement for DDV while clearing a bunch of space is a good plan.

Why Pistons do it - Assuming they keep Asaur and Duren, a lineup with Harris Asaur and Duren cannot afford another non shooter in Ron Holland. This deal allows them to keep all of their draft capital in case of emergency. Duncan Robinson fills the role of Huerter.
