Trazodone - Too High of a Dose or Paradoxical Effect?

My 12 pound dog was prescribed 50mg for the fireworks. I can also add gabapentin if I deem it necessary.

We did a test run last night with just the Trazodone. She was acting incredibly sluggish, kept readjusting herself like she couldn’t get comfortable, was super clingy, and looked/acted worried.

I don’t know if she was having a paradoxical effect, or if it was just too high of a dose?

I am unsure if I should try cutting it in half for tonight or if I should just stick with gabapentin. Or do both?

My vet is closed today, and the Emergency Vets I called won’t give medical advice over the phone.

Any help would be appreciated!

ETA: She was prescribed 1 50mg tablet 2 hours before the stressful event.

Too late to take?

Hi all,

I take Auvelity once daily. I also take Vyvanse first thing when I wake up.

I found I was crashing at like 3 or 4 pm. My doc said Auvelity shouldn’t do that. But I researched and some people who take it with a stimulant noticed that too.

So I moved my Auvelity dose to 11:30am, and kept my Vyvanse at wake up time. That helped a lot. I was now getting super tired around 7.

Today, I forgot to take it at 11:30am, and it’s now 1:52pm. Do you guys think if I take it now, that I’ll be up all night??

I do sometimes take cyclobenzaprine and Benadryl to sleep if I had too much caffeine. I suppose I could do that if I needed to.

Ruling out Spondyloarthritis

Hi there!

I come to you all from the Sjogren’s part of Autoimmune Land.

I started having autoimmune issues when I was about 20, got diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome (now Sjogren’s Disease) when I was 24 after about half a dozen “maybe it’s Lupus” remarks from different docs.

I am 40 now, and my current rheumatologist did ultrasounds of all my joints, and my SI joints came back with significant inflammation- despite being on high(ish) dose prednisone at the time. My tendons in my fingers were also angry.

She thinks I may also have Spondyloarthritis. She gave me a “maybe”.

I was already taking Plaquenil, and she added Leflunomide, and says that in August we will most likely add Humira.

I know nothing about this new potential diagnosis, and did a bit of googling- but am feeling overwhelmed. I remember the years of medical gaslighting, research, etc before I got my Sjogren’s diagnosis- and I feel tired already thinking about doing it again! And I was lucky! I got my Sjogren’s diagnosis only after a few years of suffering- whereas other people spend decades looking for answers.

I have some random symptoms that the Sjogren’s doesn’t really cover, like chronic migratory trigger finger and swollen and tender finger tendon sheaths (where the finger meets the palm). I also have lower back pain that I thought was a bulging disc, but now I’m not so sure.

Anyway- does anyone have a good resource I can do a medium sized dive into, to educate myself? Does anyone else get trigger finger? How can I tell the difference between disc pain and SI joint pain?

I’m overwhelmed. Sorry for the stress induced novel, and thanks for reading!

Just finished.

I have officially watched all of Grey’s Anatomy. Not including seasons yet to air. Obvs.

I started in spring of 2025. Took a couple months off, give or take a couple weeks. Didn’t watch daily.

All in all it took me about a year to get through the show.

It’s interesting- reading everyone’s opinions on certain characters actually set me up for the opposite a lot of the time. For example, I read so much about people hating Jo- so I expected her to be terrible at some point. In my opinion, she hasn’t been. And I actually am rooting for her.

Way back when the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding came out- people were going on and on about how good it was. So my expectations got too high. To me it was just OK. I think it’s like that. People said Owen was one of the worst human beings ever- and I’m like, eh…. Just kind of a run of the mill macho dude who is a dick every now and then. But I don’t think he’s horrible. I don’t hate him.

My biggest take away has been: you have to split the first chunk of seasons off separately from the last few seasons. Treat them like they’re different shows. I like the newer residents. It doesn’t feel like the same show, and got a bit more… soap cheesy. But to me it feels more like a spin-off or sequel. Still dig it.

Anyway, thanks for being my Greys Emotional Support Group whilst going through this last year! Now I have to wait.

Bra support?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been getting OGL ads forever on my social media, and I’m always tempted but never pull the trigger.

My biggest hesitation is the support in the built in bras. I lost 101 pounds, and my bra size changed drastically. So did my boobs. They now need considerably more support then they did- to be at the horizontal latitude I want them to be at. 😂

How supportive are the Brami tops? Also- I read they don’t really let you return clothes for a refund, but that you can exchange. If the brami isn’t supportive I’m not sure I’d want to exchange.

I’d love some other user’s feedback and experiences!
