wanna know what peak islamabad loneliness looks like?

today i did something that sounds like the setup to a terrible joke, but it turned out to be the most wholesome day of my month. the adult loneliness was hitting way too hard, so i made a deal with a total stranger to just spend the day hanging out with me.

picked her up from f11 at 1pm and took her straight to tim hortons for coffee and donuts.
after that we went to centaurus cinema to watch a chaotic punjabi movie with popcorn, and ended the night having pasta at eggspectation talking about life and random isloo gossip. dropped her back at 10pm without anything weird happening.

essentially ended up with a temporary best friend for 9 hours. 10/10 experience, great listener, and surprisingly therapeutic.

Accidentally broke someone’s iPhone at Islamabad airport

a week ago, i had my first ever flight. i’m a student and had to travel from islamabad to lahore for my test. i thought it would be a good chance to experience flying for the first time.
but something happened at the airport security that i still can’t get out of my head.
as our bags were coming out of the x ray machine, a guy had placed his iphone 16 next to my laptop bag. when i picked up my bag, his phone got slightly stuck with it and fell straight to the ground. it didn’t have a cover on it, and the camera glass shattered.
i panicked. i was really scared, especially because security was looking our way, so at first i denied that it was not me.
but then i admitted it and apologized, and told him it happened because it got caught with my bag.
what surprised me the most was how calmly he reacted. he told me that mistakes happen and that just accepting it is enough. he said i caused him a big loss and the value of his phone had dropped a lot, but he wasn’t going to ask me for any money.
before leaving, he even said something like maybe this was just written in his fate and told me not to worry.
he was traveling from islamabad to quetta.
it’s been a week and i still feel really guilty. not just because of the damage, but because my first reaction was fear instead of honesty.
i really wish i could find him again, apologize properly, and maybe help him with the repair, even if he refuses.
i know the chances of him seeing this are very low, but if you are reading this, thank you. your kindness really stayed with me.

feeling stuck after graduation, job hunt, relationship pressure and constant setbacks

been a year since graduation and i still feel stuck. trying for government jobs, gave many tests, but merit always too high. for 16th grade jobs with 20 seats, more than 1 lakh applicants, feels impossible. also in a relationship for 6 years, but my girlfriend’s caste is jutt and her father will never agree to marriage outside caste, so that also feels like a dead end. whatever small money i saved, i lost in small startup attempts, nothing worked and now i feel like i wasted time and money. friends moving ahead, some got jobs, some went abroad, and i am still in same place. family pressure increasing day by day, hard to answer their questions. days feel repetitive, no motivation, confidence getting low, overthinking a lot about future and decisions. don’t know if i should keep trying for government jobs or change path, just feel tired, confused and lost.

if anyone has been through something similar or has any advice, i’d really appreciate it.

I still think about this sometimes, and it honestly feels unreal. A few years ago, I was this close to making one of the worst decisions of my life, the kind that doesn’t just mess up a moment but can change your entire future, and it was all because of a relationship I was completely blinded by. I had convinced myself it was love and was ready to ignore my family, my responsibilities, and even my own values just to hold onto something that, looking back now, wasn’t even stable or healthy. In the middle of all that, I made a post on Reddit expecting people to agree with me, but instead one random guy replied with calm, honest advice that cut through everything I was feeling. He pointed out the red flags I was ignoring, the imbalance in the relationship, and asked questions that forced me to really think for the first time in weeks. I kept rereading his comment until it finally clicked, and I chose to step back even though it felt like I was losing something important at the time. Now I can see that decision probably saved me from years of regret and damage. The craziest part is I never even thanked him, I just read his words, changed my path, and disappeared, but wherever you are random Reddit guy, I hope life is good to you because you genuinely saved someone from ruining their life.
