How to help my sister (30F) out of a career slump without being pushy
My elder sister turns 30 this year and is feeling stuck and confused about her career direction. For context, she is single with no plans to marry anytime soon (and our family is 100% supportive of that).
She currently holds a stable government job and does well, but she feels completely unfulfilled and has hit a plateau.
I really want to see her thrive, so I've offered several suggestions, like pursuing a PhD abroad using her Master’s degree, or learning a new skill with me covering the tuition. However, none of my ideas seem to resonate with her actual goals. I'm starting to realize my suggestions might feel more like pressure than support.
Would suggesting a session with a professional career counselor be helpful, or does that cross a line?
For anyone who has felt stuck at 30, what kind of support from family actually helped you figure out your next step?
