Today my mom was driving our Alto AGS on Srinagar Highway when a car came flying toward us after going over the footpath. From what I witnessed, the rear wheels of the Car (Corolla GLi 2018-19) locked up (my guess is that they pulled the handbrake), the rear stepped out and the car oversteered badly. They completely lost control and ended up coming toward our lane.

My mom immediately slammed on the brakes and thankfully Alto's ABS brakes do work we were able to stop our Alto in time. I turned on the hazard lights immediately because we were stopped unexpectedly.

What genuinely bothers me is that this wasn't some controlled environment or track. This was Srinagar Highway, with normal traffic and other people's lives at stake.

If you don't know how to control a car when it oversteers, please don't try drifting on a public road. A handbrake pull might look cool in a video, but when the car actually gets away from you, there are innocent people around who have absolutely nothing to do with your stunt.

Thankfully nobody in our car was hurt, but this could have ended very differently.

Public roads aren't a drift track. Please drive responsibly.

I recently saw my cousin driving his brand-new Yaris at around 160 km/h when it had only done about 500 km.

I asked him what he was doing because surely a brand-new car shouldn't be driven like that immediately. Turns out, he genuinely didn't know there was a break-in period for a new engine.

It got me thinking, how many people actually know about the break-in period when they buy a new car? A lot of people seem to think that once the car is delivered, you can immediately drive it however you want.

I’m curious what everyone here does with a brand-new car during its first 1,000 km. Do you follow the manufacturer's running-in recommendations, or just drive normally from day one? In my opinion dealerships should educate the customers on what not to do at the first 1,000 or 1,500kms.

My 2018 cultus vxr has done more than 450,000 kms the car is being driven on indrive careem etc 24/7, it got it's oil changed last week and according to the driver the oil level was relatively low, I dont see any blue smoke coming out of the engine, the guy which changes the oil said to change the oil grade from 10w-40 to 20w-50, ka this recommendation good, and I also know it's gonna need an overhaul in the near future considering it's mileage, looking forward to y'all's opinions.

I get that not everyone has time but like, atleast kapra maar lo on the inside, I went over to my friends house today and he showed me his alto, it was a newer model but seeing the interior bothered me so much, it had months of dust buildup, plastic bags everywhere, muddy floor mats, seats were stained and had dust on them, not to mention the dashboard, it had become white due to the dust buildup and grime and according to him it was perfectly clean, I then showed him my alto and he thought ke Maine detailing karwayi hai, and he couldnt believe ke Maine usko kapre se saaf kiya hai, I can't with the fact that people will get in their crusty dusty car and think that that amount of dirt is OK.

Even a basic wash and vacuum every now and then makes a huge difference. Is it because people see cars as just transportation, or do they simply not care?

Everybody who has a loving mom should thank Allah for it, my mom on the other hand is a complete living hell to me, subah subah Uthe ke gaaliyan Sena shuru hojaati hain "kutte ke bache uth jao, suar ki tarah so rahe ho the ho" right now I js had my pillow over my feet and she told me to put it away I said in a normal tone "5 minutes mein Rakh duunga" she then proceeded to hit me with her slipper and said "kutte ke bache idhar de" I CANT FUCKING TAKE IT ANYMORE, I'm literally crying while typing this, I tell my dad and when he confronts my mom she says "ap zyada is kutte ki side na lein" yesterday I shared my opinion with my dad and she proceeded to say "baqwaas band kar jaahil tera bolna banta hai?" LIKE WTF DID I EVER DO TO HER KYA BIGAARA HAI MENE UNKA, earlier I didn't put my laptop in the correct place and she literally threw it to the ground, every day I pray that I wasn't veon into this messed up fucking shit hole of a household, baaji sab siblings me Saath Sahi hain. She takes my pocket money, takes my fucking eidi, Kuch kaho Aage se to gaaliyan dene lagti Hain ya Chappal se maarne ki dhamki deti Hain, I just want to fucking run away.
