Prismacore Suit, a Mythic Treasure for Draw Steel! [Narrative-driven, combat-defining leveled treasure]

Prismacore Suit, a Mythic Treasure for Draw Steel! [Narrative-driven, combat-defining leveled treasure]

Prismacore Suit is a mythic treasure for Draw Steel, built around routing power to the various systems on your suit: Blasters, Shields, and Thrusters. You can overdrive these various systems at various levels at the cost of incurring conditions.

This treasure, like other mythic treasures, is highly involved. It is meant to considerably modify the flavor of your character, its narrative, and its approach to combat.

Prismacore Suit's narrative arc is inspired by characters such as Tony Stark, except that in this case, you didn't create the suit but must still grapple with its power and the resulting responsibility.

---------------------

This is part of a larger project I’ve been developing called Mythic Treasures, which primarily features narrative-driven treasures with deep, evolving gameplay loops such as this one, alongside a wide variety of trinkets.

I wanted to share a few complete treasures publicly to show the kind of design, layout, and presentation we’re aiming for.

If you want to follow the project, the BackerKit teaser page is here:
https://www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/8ee09726-5af5-46ad-bccf-97250877f898/landing?ref=bk-redditprismacore

You can expect the final product to contain 20 mythic treasures and 100+ trinkets!

Soul Eater, a Mythic Treasure for Draw Steel! (Narrative-driven, mechanically rich leveled treasure)

Soul Eater is a mythic treasure for Draw Steel, built around reaping your enemies' souls and transforming your abilities with them.

This treasure, like other mythic treasures, is highly involved. It is meant to considerably modify the flavor of your character, its narrative, and its approach to combat.

The narrative beats at the end of the treasure are in fact required to fulfill to unlock each level's benefits. For Soul Eater specifically, they are on the more sinister side, but each mythic treasure has a unique heroic narrative!

And let me know which full mythic treasure I should publish next! Saint's Scepter, or Prismacore Suit?

Character-defining. Narrative-defining. Build-defining.

Mythic treasures are a new take on leveled items - ones that don’t just scale with your character, but define them. Each mythic treasure shapes your story across the campaign and fundamentally changes how you approach combat.

You can think of a mythic treasure as your second subclass. That’s how much it matters.

How are mythic treasures different?

  • Narrative beats unlock each level’s power, creating a unique heroic arc for each mythic treasure
  • Additional progression at levels 3 and 7 (on top of 1, 5, 9)
  • Grant heroic abilities, not just passive benefits
  • Designed around tactical combat loops instead of straight upgrades
  • Tailored to encourage buildcraft & experimentation
  • Weapon and armor mythic treasures are explicitly designed and allowed to be changed to any weapon or armor type
  • Only one can be wielded at a time
  • Cannot be crafted

What does that look like in play?

  • Want to play an inquisitor-like Censor? Don the Umbral Shroud, hide within pools of conjured darkness, and strike from the shadows.
  • Want to play a skald-like Fury? Bear Crescendo’s Edge, composing verses to empower allies and weaken foes as you cut them down, leading to an explosive crescendo.
  • Want to play a warlock-like Elementalist? Wield Soul Eater, reaping the souls of your fallen enemies, and consuming them to modify your abilities with various soul boosts.

Included in this supplement

  •  20 mythic treasures - each fully illustrated
  •  60 trinkets

Stretch Goals

  • +1–8 additional mythic treasures
  • +10–160 additional trinkets
