Jacob with nickname Jack

Hi! We are considering naming our son Jacob but using Jack as his nickname instead of Jake. We like biblical names (our older son is Nathaniel and goes by Nate) and we like the name Jacob and the name Jack, but not Jake.

Does this nickname make sense? We would primarily call him Jack, but our religious and Latin American family would call him Jacob.

Want to get reactions on whether this is silly and if people will forever call him Jake. I don’t think so since he’d be introducing himself as Jack, but want other’s opinions. Thank you!

Nathaniel and Ethan Sibling Set

Our son’s name is Nathaniel and we call him Nate. We are considering naming our second son Ethan. Are these names too similar for a sibling set?

Worried that eventually Nate’s friends may call him Nathan and that we’d have a Nathan and an Ethan, which sounds like essentially the same name.
