How can I help my friend secure a Navajo Nation Tribal Identification Card?

I apologize if use any incorrect terminology or get anything wrong, I’m open to any corrections! I am not Native American (is that the correct way to phrase it?) but my best friend is. Her dad was born and adopted the last year that it was possible for a white family to adopt a child off the Navajo reservation, he says. He is 100% Native American, and she is as a result 50%. Unfortunately, he had a sealed adoption, and she is currently not on speaking terms with her father. Because of this, it’s been really hard for her to connect with her culture, but I know she is really wanting to learn more. Since her birthday is coming up, I was thinking of seeing what I could do to at least jumpstart the process for her to get a tribal identification card. However, it seems like a lot of the information needed has to do with proving you have a parent who is Native American- which, for the reasons stated above, would be really hard for her to do. Does anyone have any insight on ways for me to help her with this process? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
