Demo Car

Demo Car

Built a "demo car" to show how the parts I included in the Starter Kits can be used. I used as many different bits as I could, paperclip bash bar, zip tie window armor, cotton swab exhaust pipes, foil hood armor, pencil ferrule fuel tank with wire support frame. The weapon is from a dollar store toy

Cars in TC

Okay so cars do exist in Trench Crusade. They are also powered by gas. I imagine due to the war cars are still a great rarity for civilian use. Perhaps they are more common in the Iron Sultanate, as there should be more plentiful oil fields there. OTOH Iron Sultanate doesn’t seem to do mass scale manufacturing so I can’t imagine cars are that common either but I would guess the cars there are very blinged out.

Gaslands Starter Kits

I run a Gaslands demo for new players at a local monthly diecast meet. It's usually a great group of kids who come by for a game.

I want to encourage the kids who have been playing the demo games to try their hand at customizing a diecast car for Gaslands. Hopefully they'll have fun with these Starter Kits that I've assembled for the next demo.

Each kit includes:

Diecast car

Window mesh

Diamond plate plasticard

Packaging straps

Sandpaper

Sturdy tin foil

Plastic coated paper clips

Toothpicks

Craft sticks

Wires

Hollow tubes

Pencil eraser ferrules (oil drums)

3D printed weapon

The Army Surplus Special! Ready to roll!

Might do a little touch up, rust and dust, but it is otherwise done. I'm pretty happy with this as an updated Gasland-ified version of the classic cartoon vehicle.

Armored Hubcaps

There was always something missing from these Mishkin drone cars. A fellow Gasland builder gave me a pro tip to use the heads of thumbtacks as armored hubcaps. He suggested them for a different build, but it clicked with me for the perfect cyberpunk look. Might have to tame the shiny down.

Need help with tampo deletion

Used the dry erase marker method on this Sentinel 400 Limo (2004 Camouflage 5-pack). You can still see the ghost image of the tampo. I can keep at it, but am worried about taking off the body paint.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Gaslands Open: Zombie Bash! Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Set up for a Zombie Bash demo game I am running at the local diecast meet on Sunday. Four players and 45 zombies. Course with open lanes with clusters of zombies near obstacles at the end of the straightaway. Zombie Dispersal Unit Truck and zombies spilling out of containers for a target rich center with tight spacing between obstacles.

Looking forward to a fun time with new and returning players

The Amongus, Too

In the immortal words of S.R. Hadden; "Why build one when you can have two at twice the price?"

I couldn't bear to part with the first Amongus, so I built a second one to send to Wastelands Raceway for the 2026 Season of Death Race Arena. It's a monster truck, so I am under no illusion that it will perform well.

The Amongus

The Amongus, nephew to the late great Lord Humongous, drives a monster truck with a massive rear engine, heavy armor plating, nitro booster and a hood mounted machine gun.

Those who are deemed "sus" are bound to the forward ram as an example to all in the Wastelands.

Gaslands Open: First Six Teams

Finished six groups of giveaway cars for the Gaslands Open demo game I run at the local diecast meet. Players get to keep the car they pick to play in the demo. After running a few games, I needed to replenish some teams. Each team is themed after a Sponsor, but we don't use Sponsors in the game. It just makes for good fluff and looks.

The Doom Buggers (Slime), Blackskull Racers (Verney), Interstate Motor Police Service - IMPS (Highway Patrol), Shotrunners (Rusty's Bootleggers), Recruits (Rutherford), and Warden Wagons (Warden)

Our little foster, Cocoa, was adopted yesterday. We had her for six months and really grew to love her. She's with a good family and will be well loved and very spoiled.

She was our fifth foster and the first one to affect me so. I know this feeling will pass and we'll be ready to help another dog find their people.

But for now, I'm just gonna look at pics of her for a while longer.
