First time hooking a smallie big enough to want to put it on the reel. We'll call it 18" because I didn't have a tape, but close enough to 20" I was excited!

Got it on a #6 clouser, black and chartreuse. Vintage Orvis 8wt rod w/ SA carp line. Swung the fly through a deeper run into the current break off the last bit of bank on a small shallow section behind a bridge pylon.

Did not disappoint. These are my absolute favorite fish to target. I recently took up fly fishing and have been waiting for prespawn to kick off in my area so I can chase them. Summer fishing this year if going to be a blast!
