I’m thinking about getting a third lobe piercing soon and I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips for helping it heal properly or making the process easier overall. I’d really appreciate any advice about what to do before the appointment, the best jewelry materials for healing, cleaning and aftercare routines, how to sleep without irritating it, and anything specific for hair or hair products around fresh piercings. I already know not to twist the jewelry too much and to clean it, but I’d love to hear any personal experiences, things you wish you knew beforehand, and how long healing realistically took for you :)

I’ve been wanting to get my thirds pierced for a while now and I’ve been looking into different places and Claire’s isn’t an option lol. But a lovisa newly opened near me and I asked them about their piercings and they said that they use a gun but it doesn’t have a spring and their pricing isn’t too bad, but again everyone says that obviously gun piercings are bad but the thing is I know someone who also got their thirds done by a professional with a needle but one ear wasn’t pierced through straight and the piercing got infected and now they have a scar. So I’m really not sure what to do anymore I really want to get them done but I just don’t know what the best option for me is.
