Palo Verde broke in the night?

Hello,

We woke up this morning to find our gorgeous tree broken down to the base. Wondering if anyone can provide any advice on how to handle the limb removal and what might have happened.

All of the wood is firm and strong, and we didn’t have any storms through the area last night.

Radon, and how serious is it?

Hey folks,

So I’ve been obsessed with the idea of moving to Portland from Arizona for many years. I spend a lot of time lurking the Portland reddit, various YouTube channels, and realtor channels/ig. My husband and I plan to visit next year to get a feel for the city. And now I have only JUST learned about the prevalence of radon in Portland, and it has me so spooked.

To me this seems like a huge deal. Cancer causing gas just seeps out of the ground and you can be breathing it in at any time, especially in your home?

Do you find the rate of lung cancer to be extremely high in Portland? Is the rate of other respiratory issues high? Is mitigation just so standard, prevalent, and effective that it’s a non issue?

I wonder if it’s the same as living in AZ and knowing valley fever is just in the dirt. No big deal, I still go out and watch the storm roll through.

Thanks for your time!

Edit: Everyone replied so fast! Thank you all for your responses. I guess it’s not a huge deal like I thought it would be.
