When Sir make the same mistake?
How do you square the circle when your husband make the same mistakes as you do? I’m not talking about minor things, for which it is agreed the wife is operating under a stricter system or set of rules. I’m talking about big stuff which is obviously bad whoever does it. I’ve read examples of wives receiving long punishments for being careless and having their purse stolen, or for having a prang in their car or leaving the house unlocked overnight. What if any of those things happen to the husband in exactly the same circumstances, or were his duty to look after?
It is true that discipline can restore the balance in our relationships and draw a line under matters. But when our husbands make the errors how do we square the circle that they committed exactly the same dangerous transgression as we did but instead of a painful beating they got nothing but loving support. And I know we get aftercare and support too from our dear husbands - but we still get the punishment. Doesn’t ever create resentment? How do you overcome this? SHOULD you overcome it or should the husband recognise it’s a valid point?
