So the rivers I fish tend to get heavy algae growth periodically during the year, at least until a big rain comes along and high muddy water pushes it out.

I prefer dragging or hopping baits on the bottom, stuff like Ned rigs, paddle tails, bitsy big jigs, etc... but with heavy algae growth these are not practical baits and I've had trouble finding a good alternative.

What are you guys using when you have to deal with these conditions?

I'll drift weightless senkos and flukes occasionally as well, but those types of baits aren't usually my first choice.
