Host Agency Fees vs Income Earned?

I was with a host agency that didn't charge a fee, and did pay me out my commissions at first, but that's kind of fallen apart. Get what you pay for I guess.

I'm looking into the other recommended agencies but the fees all seem really big for someone just starting out. $200 just to start and then $50+ a month... I'm in my 20's, I can't really afford to spend all that money and then still have to be finding my own leads (I live in a state where people are always trying to find the best deal, i.e Costco Travel or GAT, of which travel agents usually are not). Last year I managed to book 4 trips, but that's not really enough to even break even with the fees.

Do people really make enough money every single month that the monthly fee isn't just another bill you have to pay? I just can't really hemorrage money at this stage in my life.

Visible Phone Service

My husband and I have been debating on switching from Verizon to Visible. Does anyone have experience with it / how the service is? I assume that since Verizon owns it that it uses their towers, but.

Moving Questions

Hi all,

My husband and I are looking into moving to South Bend from Cache County, Utah.

We have some friends out there and my husband's current job is based out of SB but I've peppered them with enough questions haha and would like to get as many perspectives as possible.

How are the schools? Public or private. I'm not opposed to a Catholic school if it follows the science of learning. When I researched Indiana it showed up as top 13 in the nation but when I was talking to locals when we visited we got some weird responses.

How is the local business scene? Other than restaurants. I like to shop local as much as I can, and where we live there's a few local butchers, people that make soap, booksellers (although I do still love B&N), fisheries, garden shops, and basically anything you can think of you can get local.

Sub question, is there a good farmer's market?

Is there a decent amount of events/things to do for both families and adults? I.e karaoke nights, festivals, theatre, museums, dances, etc

Overall, what are the pros and cons of South Bend? We enjoyed our visit last December but some of the reactions we got from locals gave me an odd vibe.
