Cache Bar Karaoke MC scandal

Looks like we have to go back to pen and paper, folks.

I’ve heard from some Cache Bar patrons that people will get to Cache Karaoke as early as they can and leak the sign-up QR code to their friend circle so they can join the queue without even being there.

Even worse, the karaoke MC will move people up on the list for people he likes. I got there at 8:00 p.m., and by the time I left at midnight, there were still 20 songs ahead of me. It’s frustrating when all I want to do is sing ONE song while other people are doing multiple and getting bumped up the list. Rant over

Jobs in Cache Valley around $25 an hour?

I know this seems picky, and if you think I have no other options, feel free to tell me to kick rocks haha.

Looking for a job, it can have a lower starting point as long as there’s room for growth in pay. (want to eventually be at around $30-$40 an hour)

Obviously factory work is the first suggestion. it isn’t preferred, but I would do it (hoping not graves). out of the factories here in town which ones are really good to work for?

I’ve been interested in becoming an electrician, but haven’t been able to find an apprenticeship or anything besides the school down in salt lake city and I don’t have the money to commute that far constantly currently. are there any jobs in the area that could help me down that road?

I have done factory work in the past, i’ve done retail, i’ve done sales. Sales/commission jobs are a hard no for me. I do not have a degree. But I am a hard worker, and am willing to settle for anything at this point. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks!

Jobs for early mornings

I’m currently dealing with stuff at my current job and today I’m making calls but it’s really seeming like they might let me go, which really sucks because I was so close to hitting 2 years with them, even had enough money coming in for me to start school earlier this month. If I lose this job this will be my 3rd time dropping out of school for financial issues. My school hours are late evenings, so I really need something early in the morning!!! My current job I start at 5am.

what is out there that I could apply for ???

Suggestions for short-term housing?

I'm a grad student that's going to be moving to Logan for a rotation at one of the hospitals in the area. I'm looking for a place that would accommodate me and my cat for around 5 weeks starting around August 22.

I've looked into Airbnb, FurnishedFinder, and Hotels, but all the listings that allow pets are in the 2000+ range, and all of the cheap college apartments around USU do full year leases only.

What's the best way to go about looking for an affordable place?

Has anyone had any experience with Dr. Kent Anderson?

Was looking into getting some therapy and he’s the only psychologist in the area who takes my insurance, and he specializes in some stuff I need help with, but I’m seeing some pretty mixed reviews online about him

Little Logan River Deserves to Flow

The draft environmental impact statement for the Logan River Watershed Project is out and public comment period has started!

There is going to be a presentation and public comment opportunity on May 20 at 6pm at Logan High School. My group fighting to save the Logan Rivers is AGAINST this project and we are trying to get the word out to come to this meeting.

Please come to the public meeting and/or comment on the draft environmental impact assessment (DEIS).

Tell the project sponsors that the North Branch of the Logan River (NBLR), also known as the Little Logan River (LLR), is a river and you want it preserved as such with year-round flows!

The DEIS fails to recognize the NBLR/LLR or value the many environmental services it provides, and consequently does not adequately address the negative impacts of the proposed project to the NBLR and the broad community that enjoys and appreciates it.

USE BOTH LANES ENTIRELY BEFORE ZIPPER MERGING

Holy hell what is with you people? How can this many Americans not know how to zipper merge! Main Street southbound is diabolical during rush hour because twats are clogging the right lane while the left is empty for A MILE.

If you’re ever wondering how stupid some people can be, just think of your average person. HALF of the entire population is dumber than that. I tried to stay decent during this rant but there is certainly some more insulting thoughts I’m keeping to myself. Fuck them

Fountain Drinks

Any places y’all love for self serve fountain drinks here in the valley? I’ve been a Maverik loyalist for years but their fountain drinks are mid. Emphasis on self serve - I’m not asking about swig or places like that.

Thanks!

Tools and toys

Are there places I can sell tools or paces for toys? I have a boatload of hot wheels that I’ve posted on marketplace but they haven’t sold. And the tools… I don’t even know what half of them are but there’s nearly everything needed to build a house. Am I better off trying to do a yard sale?

Resources for inherited dog.

My aunt just recently passed away. She has a dog that we offered to take in because there was no room in a shelter or other family that could take him. We’ve reached out to cache humane, posted him to the Facebook group and pet finder but having no luck. We have a toddler and a 7 month old so we don’t have the time he needs for the exercise. Does any one know of any other places we can try?

Repost on Tremonton murder case, it got taken down

Couple in Tremonton released due to incorrect timing on file charges.

I truly hope they file something else ASAP. How do these people feel ok going back into society? Their poor child and family.

Canoeing Logan River through Logan?

Has anyone canoed Logan River through Logan city? Is there anything stopping you from floating from the island all the way down to Rendezvous Park, or to iFit?

A friend told me years ago he canoed from iFit to Cutler Marina. Is that still possible, with the construction at Trapper Park and along Valley View Highway?

Advice on visiting Old Ephraim's Grave?

I'm looking for an activity to get some teenagers off the couch and out of the range of WiFi for a few of hours.

I hear the trail is pretty rough. I have a SUV with 4-wheel drive, but the tires aren't for off-roading. Is that good enough, or do I need a jeep like I see in the pictures here:

https://www.roadtripryan.com/go/t/utah/northern-utah/old-ephraim-s-grave

Is the trail dry this time of year, or should I wait another month?

Anyone who's been there, do you have any tips on making the trip fun and safe?
