Cache Valley Social Crawl

Hey everyone!

I'm trying something a little different this month. On July 18th, we are inviting anyone who's looking to meet new people to our social crawl.

The Human Connect Project is hosting a Social Crawl through downtown Logan. We'll be making stops at Home Range, Barrel & Stave, Prodigy, and The White Owl, spending time at each location and getting to know the people along the way.

This isn't a drinking competition and you definitely don't need to come with a group. The idea is simply to create an easy, low-pressure way to meet people and support some great local businesses at the same time.

If you've been wanting to expand your social circle, meet other people in Cache Valley, or just get out of the house for a Saturday night, we'd love to have you join us.

Tickets are limited so we can keep the group manageable and make it easier for everyone to connect.

Hope to see some of you there!

Way to go

With the fireworks ban controversy I had no idea what to expect.

It is radio silence.

Proud of our community. Not everyone agreed but everyone knows deep down it’s for the best.

Fireworks outside approved areas

For those lighting off fireworks outside of areas approved by your local fire chiefs, I hope you learn your lesson. May you regret this for years. I hope the fines ruined you.

I see folks enjoying fireworks in areas deemed safe enough. I hear sirens up on the hills where fireworks are prohibited. I hope they gut you like a fish.

Hike question

I need help finding the name of a hike here in Cache Valley. I did a really cool hike a few years ago going towards Providence, and it was right beside a river, with multiple ropes you had to go on in order to cross parts of the river. I wish I could give you more details, but that's all I can remember. While you're at it, are there any other beautiful hikes in the valley? I can only seem to remember the names of a few (like the wind caves), despite having hiked quite a few trails around here.

7/3 10:26pm… did something happen?

I heard a bunch of fireworks and then boom a million fire truck sirens. Did something happen? I live near 10th west. I’m just on edge about any fires in the valley.

What is this?

Found this cable/rope structure up Providence canyon. Is it a sleeping deck in the trees. Its many ropes tied together to make a flush, tight net about 5 feet above the forest floor.

Bear Lake: North Beach

For those that have been to North Beach this year, do they still have the tables out? Just want to check before I go to know if I need to bring one. I know they had them out last year, but didn’t for years before that.

Places to hang up flyers for small business?

My girlfriend is searching for new clients for her nail business and we’re looking for places to hang up flyers to show her new client deal she’s offering. We’ve been able to get on Main Street with a few places but would be interested in more popular spots to post the flyers and would love to hear where you guys would recommend!

Transmission shop recommendation

I have a 2020 F350 with about 300,000 miles on it. It’s shifting hard. I’ve used Brent Allen Automotive Wilson, Ford, A1 auto, big 0 tires, and TNT repair, i’m not really stoked on any of them. I understand that things cost what they cost, but I often feel like I’m having a hard time finding anyone that isn’t just guessing when it comes to problems. Could someone make a recommendation?

Cache Valley Cruise In

Does anyone know what day and time they’re doing the car show parade down Main Street? I keep getting different answers. Also does the cruise in cost money?

R/Logan river buffer zone violated by city?

New sidewalk from Main Street to First West is along south edge of South Branch of the Logan river. Every tree was removed, including possibly a mature American elm tree that is coming back from its roots . Bad weeds are coming back. It seems like this violates the 100 ft and 40 ft riparian buffer zones in effect the last few years.
