How do you guys feel about patients wearing Meta glasses with cameras?

It never really bothered me when patients come in wearing Meta smart glasses with the camera on. In fact, I've usually seen it as a positive. I try to be as honest and transparent as possible, so if they want to go back and review what I explained, that's fine with me.

Lately, though, I've started thinking about the other side of it. What if someone records the appointment, edits the video, posts only certain parts online, and completely changes the context? Even if you did everything correctly, a short edited clip could make you look bad or leave out important parts of the conversation.

How do you all handle this? Do you allow patients to record appointments, or do you have a policy against it? Has anyone actually had an experience where a recording caused problems?

Non brand intra oral scanners

Hey everyone, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on non brand intraoral scanners. Lately, I've noticed that a lot of dental labs, implant companies, and smaller dental brands are offering their own branded intraoral scanners. What caught my attention is that many of them seem to have very similar designs, features, and even software interfaces. It makes me wonder how many of these companies are actually developing their own hardware versus rebranding an existing platform.

The reason I ask is because I recently purchased a non branded scanner for around $2,500, and honestly, I was surprised by how well it performs. It's fast, captures a lot of detail, seems very accurate, and even includes some AI assisted features that suggest potential findings. So far, I've been genuinely impressed.

It got me thinking, are we sometimes paying a huge premium just for a well known name and marketing? I realize long term reliability, support, software updates, and integration are important factors, and I have no idea how this scanner will hold up over the years. But the price difference compared to some of the major brands is pretty shocking.

I remember noticing something similar when I was in dental lab school. Certain products from different companies looked nearly identical, with what appeared to be the same manufacturing source but different logos and price tags attached.

For those of you who have experience with both major brand and nonbrand scanners, what has your experience been? Are there significant differences in accuracy, durability, support, and workflow integration, or are some of these lower cost options closing the gap faster than we think?

Dosespot magic mouth wash prescription.

Hey guys, quick question, how are you prescribing Magic Mouthwash through DoseSpot?

Yesterday I tried prescribing it, but I couldn’t find a preset option already set up. I selected the compound option and added each ingredient manually, but when I tried sending it to the pharmacy, it wouldn’t go through.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a different way you guys usually send it?

Alright guys, sold my GR Corolla and got the Type R. I really don't have nothing bad to say about the GRC but I was very curious to see how the Type R performs. On my way from the dealership home I noticed that the seats on the Type R is another level, it holds you very well. The interior on the Type R is much nice too. The clutch and transmission on the Type R is butter. But I can't explain it, at least at the first drive the Type R doesnt seem to pull like the GR Corolla. At any speed I could feel the boost with the GRC but I didn't felt that much with the Type R. Let's see, I only drove the car from the dealership to the house.
