2026 Mid-Ohio Type R corral

The Type R corral at Mid-Ohio for the Indy race today was a blast! Was able to squeeze in some mods before going. PRL coolant expansion tank, PRL catch can, PWR intercooler with PRL charge pipes. As well as MDR rear wiper delete (do not recommend the MDR rear wiper delete) as well as tinting out the rear deflectors and the OEM under hood wings to clean up the engine bay

Newly purchased 2026

I came from a dodge Hornet and even though it’s more expensive to finance ( everyone’s budget is different obviously). I think it’s worth the extra 300$ a month as I only work 40 hours and I don’t mind working a day or two extra just to cover the difference. On another note, it will remain completely stock, I will not do anything to this car probably for a while or ever. I shaved 50$ off my insurance and it gets the same MPG as the dodge Hornet ( both get 24MPG combined )

Also black is now discontinued so It’s actually why I decided to pull the trigger ultimately.

Any former European car owners?

I had a civic in my younger years, car I learned to wrench on and had a lot of fun with recently I’ve been eyeing up the CTR.

I currently have a 2019 Mercedes E450 currently at 65,000 miles. Great car comfortable plenty of performance. Pricey upkeep and maintenance especially at higher mileages.

Though about the Acura ITS but much prefer the looks of the CTR. I’m conflicted because it would obviously be a step in the other direction from comfort and driving experience not better or worse just different. I can keep the Benz and add the CTR but idk how much sense that would really make.

My question is any of you guys former Audi/VW, BMW or MB owners and do you feel like you’re miss anything about owning those?

Hondata issues

I was waiting on phearable for a remote jailbreak and thought I’d connect the flashpro to see if the car had been jailbroken before I had purchased it, it allowed me to lock the flashpro to the vehicle, but under ecu it says jailbreak unknown. I tried to upload the 93 tune but about 40% through I got this error. Anyone have the same issue? It allowed me to revert to the factory settings. Just curious I’m sure this means the ecu still needs jailbroken

You on here, bro!?

Fireworks had exploded on the ground causing damage around the neighborhood. Some people have been injured and hopefully the Boost Blue Type R isn't.

Fun CTR Dupe... Fun, not hate.

I have a 2020 Red CTR FK8. Driving on the highway I noticed a red Civic behind me, totally wondering if it's a type R or not... I think I see a red badge, then I tell myself no, because I can see the interior is gray through my mirror. Didn't think anything more of it until I saw all the stuff on it.,.. wheels, brakes, wing, skirts, and even the 3 pipes ... I see a gray interior still but I wasn't 100 percent certain. Then, I realize that he didn't have the vortex generators and that plus the interior I'm totally certain that it's a dupe. Now, I give many points to this guy, he obviously loves the look and he's really gone all out to copy it, and I really think if that's how you wanna spend your money I'm all for it.

But, thinking about the cost of ALL that stuff, it's the Vortex Generators that make me laugh, like... the wing, pipes, wheels, painted brakes, that's a good amount of money, I just still can't get over NOT putting on those. It's sadly been in my head all day just wondering... I could have 3D printed those things and glued them on... Seems like that wouldn't have been the step I'm stop on.

Here just for fun not to hate.

Eibach pro kit fender gap

I’m wondering if others running eibach pro kit can weigh in. Seems like my front end is sitting too high? Thanks in advance! I actually like the stance but it looks higher than other pics I’ve found. Maybe it’s just in my head

What would you offer and can the recall still be serviced by Honda for free?

Hi all im completely new to Civic type R’s and this would also be a first car purchase for me. What would be your first offer on the car and is it a fair value in your opinion. Secondly, I noticed some after market work done it. The car looks lowered and I think the top left of the engine bay is a PRL coolant reservoir if im understanding that right. The engine cover cap missing is also a slight concern for me since there no point in taking it off unless your doing work on the car (correct me if I am wrong). I digress if i take this into Honda to service the recall will they still honor it.

Tracking down odd steering vibration

This has been going on for a while, but I slowly just gave up trying to pinpoint what exactly it is and thinking about it is just driving me nuts again. My car currently has just under 39k miles. Back when it had about 7k miles I had gotten a set of Rays CE28 CRII black edition wheels (18” 9.5J +38 offset) paired with a set of Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ tires (265/35). Ever since I got those installed I noticed a very faint vibration on my steering wheel. I’ve tried a few things including running hub centric rings (still on), alignment and road force balancing. None of these really helped the issue or found the cause after all this time. I would switch it out with my stock wheels with the original PS4Ss for summer and I never noticed this vibration. At first I thought it was the wheel or tire that was out of round. When I got the tires, I had it stacked on top of each other for a 2-3 months until the wheels came in, so it led me to think maybe the tire is just deformed because of how I stored it, but the road balance never found anything on the wheels or tires. The strange thing is that it’s not a consistent vibration. I’d say 90-95% of the time I notice nothing, but when I’m on certain stretches of the highway, it vibrates. Another thing I realized recently is that it feels almost as if the vibration shifts from the front passenger side to the driver side. When the steering is not vibrating, i see minor vibrations on the passenger front seat. However, when the seat stops vibrating, the steering starts to do so. Also for context I live in St. Louis, MO, so the roads aren’t the smoothest. Additionally, I have installed a H&R springs, PRL rear motor mount and switched to an ITS damper module. All three of these were installed after the wheels and the issue was present before that.

At this point I’m thinking it’s one of these things:

Change in offset going from +60 to +38

Deformed tires

Bad tie rods

Sorry for the long read, but I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this issue. I really wanna get this fixed. Worst case I may just sell my wheels and get a different set with an offset closer to +60.

Is this FL5 overpriced?

I’m looking for a new daily and I’m trying to decide between a Type R or a Civic Si. I found this Type R near me and took it for a test drive and it ran good and the condition seemed pretty solid overall.

The dealer is pretty firm on price, but I’m just curious what people think about the Type R in general, especially with the mileage on this one. I’d like to get it lower, but I’m also wondering if it’s even worth it given the miles. I enjoyed driving this thing.

Any idea what pricing I should be asking at this mileage? State is WA.
