Can we share? How much are you being quoted (or paying) for a new a/c unit?

We got quotes this week for new a/c unit installation. 1.5 ton , 15 seer. Premier model is $13K and the economy is $11K. Add an additional $3K to each quote if you want hepa filter "air quality" yada yada yada upgrades. Is everyone paying these prices in Baton Rouge? I gasped and clutched my faux pearls. Is my shock justified or do I need to get in line with these prices? If the price is close to on point, any chance they go down in September?

New(ish) to Contingency Fees - How to Balance Being Fair and Smart Business

I have an opportunity to work on some contract disputes that may or may not settle pre-litigation. I've been to a couple of CLE's where the attorneys say that they charge a flat contingency fee for managing contract disputes, severances and the like. Their contingency fees range from 30 to 35% and the fees remain the same whether or not there is litigation. One of the matters I'll be handling will result in the biggest attorney fee I've ever recovered no matter if it settles before or after suit (which would make a huge impact for me now). However, I don't know how good I'd feel about collecting 1/3 of what the client recovers for potentially 10 hours of work. This makes me feel like I should set a pre-litigation and post litigation contingency fee - or charge hourly pre-litigation and charge a contingency for post. I haven't had a ton of experience working for myself and could really use some help.

Swamp Milkweed and Other Natives at Local Nursery?

Hey Y'all, I am looking for swamp milkweed and black-eyed susans for my garden. Are there any local nurseries in the Baton Rouge area that sell these plants or other natives? Willing to travel a little further out for healthy plants.
