So Facebook is practically useless for small businesses now, huh?

I recently started my photography business back up after a 6 year hiatus, and my Back to School event (that would usually book up quickly) completely flopped.

(I’ve still been working in that time, it’s all just been word of mouth).

I get that people have less expendable income these days (I expected to have less people show). I get that it can be slow going getting a business back up and running again. I know it’s not just Facebook working against me here.

However on my first post, just gauging interest, I had more than 30 comments. Then once I had the dates and price list planned, there was nothing. I spent $50 to boost my ad, and I only got four likes and two comments. I booked 2 sessions and won’t break even with my expenses.

Meanwhile, I can’t log on without being bombarded by AI ads for dubious products that may or may not actually exist, and I rarely see anything posted by a human I actually know. I used to watch reels, but I can barely get through one without an ad interrupting it.

I can hardly see the point in even using the app anymore, never mind try to run my business with it. What an absolute waste of time and energy.
