Question about early registration

So the email states that if you did not get a class that you were expecting, maybe with early its possible it was due to not meeting requirements. Someone I knew in the same degree got Math 223 along with 2 others that I did get. Math 223 I have not gotten yet, but I am pretty certain I met the requirements. Workday allows me to put the class in a saved schedule. So I was curious, is this just luck, or should I be worried that I am not allowed to take the class in general? I am a 2nd year. Also, this sounds dumb, but all of these early reg courses are already registered, so on registration day, I do not have to, like, do my saved schedules and them separately, right?

Lost diamond ring?

Not sure if it's any real diamonds or what not obviously, regardless that changes nothing. If this belongs to anyone DM me and send proof that it's yours somehow? Not sure, photo idk. Anyways, this was dropped near by the hebb, I picked it up today around 4pm, not sure if the time stamp helps. Figured this doesn't break the subreddits guidelines since this may be quite valuable etc.

Openstax textbook useful?

I am currently taking my 4th physics course and have always used edx and slides as my learning, as opposed to the OpenStax textbook that comes with these classes. Despite this strategy, there are questions and problems in the textbook, so I am curious to people who have taken classes like physics 131, 118, 117, is the textbook useful or are the edx questions more superior (I kinda assume those questions are from the textbook though?).

I know that this question likely depends on what exactly you are trying to get into for grad school. At the moment, I am hoping to do something astrophysics-related. I have looked on Google and whatnot and some say its only 3rd and 4th that matter, others say it's a collective of all your years. I imagine its more of a mix where 3rd and 4th matter the most, but still I know 85 percent is alright in general, but is it good enough for grad school? I am not sure. Has anyone here done maybe physics grad school or maybe even astronomy-related grad school at UBC? Would love some advice, I do intend on getting these grades up, kinda was not fully locked in and taking Chem when I probably shouldn't have does not help lol. If someone's response to the question is to go look at myself again, please link the website if you know! I have talked with the head of the PHAS program here and have been told the astronomy and physics honours major is a good route to grad school, but this is more about the grade/percent aspect.

I had a project worth 5 percent and have gotten a grade back of 0 because I had not put my writing component of it in, however I did. I put my writing portion in the "text entry" part on the submission in canvas. The assignment made no mention of it needing to be in file like other assignments so I figured that this is where they wanted it. Just in case though on the day of submission I even left a note on canvas saying where the writing component is. Still I guess stupid on my behalf, currently I have said my case via email with my prof and marker but I am curious, is the "text entry" section not viewable or was it just overlooked in my case?
