Downtime after rectocele repair and perineoplasty
I met with the urogyn several months ago and she diagnosed stage 2 rectocele. She also explained my perineum is basically gone after 3 vaginal births. She recommended surgery but I’ve been putting off calling to schedule. My main concern is time off work and downtime where I can’t take care of my kids/dogs. I can work from home but my husband doesn’t really have PTO to help out with the kids. For those who had this surgery and have kids, how long until you could walk around, bend, do basic household tasks, get kids on/off the bus? How long until you felt ok enough to work from home if you have a desk job?
Also curious if anyone who had these specific procedures felt it helped with sexual sensation. I think since my perineum disappeared, intercourse just doesn’t feel like much anymore. Trying to manage my expectations on whether this will ever come back.
