Happy Independence Day, everyone! 🇮🇳 A thought that made me pause today

Happy Independence Day, everyone! 🇮🇳❤️

Today is a day to celebrate the freedom we fought for and the independence we earned in 1947. It’s a reminder of the courage, sacrifices and struggles that shaped the country we live in today.

But I came across a video today that made me pause and think about something deeper.

We achieved political independence, but are we truly independent?

Our desires, choices and ambitions are constantly shaped by society, industries, politics and the world around us. We are often told what success looks like, what to chase, what to buy and even what to aspire to. And sometimes, we start mistaking those conditioned desires for our own.

Maybe true independence also means being free from the conditioning that keeps us from thinking and living consciously.

Do I really want this, or have I simply been taught to want it?

I came across this video by Acharya Prashant today, and I found this really fascinating. Are we really free?

Felt especially relevant today. 🇮🇳

Thanks All.
Cheers.

This sound heals

Sitting in the middle of this beautiful stream, getting lost in this sound, and the chilly breeze hits differently.

If what I cannot control can control my thoughts and decisions, then who am I?

Lately I’ve been thinking about how much of my inner state is influenced by things I don’t control.

Someone’s opinion of me.

My appearance.

My clothes.

My body.

How I think others perceive me.

None of these are entirely within my control, yet they can change how I feel, what I think, and even the decisions I make.

That led me to a simple question:

If what I cannot control can control my thoughts and decisions, then who am I—the observed, or the observer?
