Do these stitches look right?

Just picked up my (new to me) vintage singer 401a from being serviced and these are the stitches he tested. I feel like they should be straight? I bought the machine from someone who inherited it that didn’t use it and wasn’t sure if its last service. So I took it in to have general maintenance done. He said he “cleaned, lubricated, checked timing and tension and ran a stitch pattern.” There are a lot of places that still seem dirty, but maybe he meant internally? I’ve never had a machine serviced before since I’m new to sewing and have only used my new janome for roughly a year. Not sure if I should have asked for more details 🫠 these are the stitches he ran. Advice?

I just got a singer 401a and haven’t seen this type of knee lever before. I’ve seen the foot pedal/knee lever ones that can be removed and used as a regular foot pedal but mine seems to be only a knee lever option? I know the brown cord attaches to my machine and it connects the knee lever to it. I had the power cord plugged into the two prong spot on the side of machine above the brown one that goes to the cabinet. But what is the black port that’s wired to the bottom of my cabinet? Is that where I should plug the power cord into? Very confused and don’t know who to ask. Yes I know it needs to be cleaned. Took the machine in for maintenance but thinking about taking the cabinet in too to have him look at it as well. She ran when I tested it before taking it in but The person I bought it from didn’t know when it was serviced last or even used.
