Any way around the delay in activation lock removal by Apple, the current date set for removal is mid September.

The screen is damaged so can't remove the account from phone directly and find my has been removed from icloud.

Can I use a pc to factory reset with iTunes or is this useless too? Assuming i can get it into recovery mode with the damage. (I feel this might make things worse)

Surely they can't offer a repair replace product with this restriction ? Yes I've been in store too.
