39F looking for a museum friend in DC

I’ve lived near DC for years and still have a long list of museums I keep saying I’ll visit.

I’d like to find another woman who wants to go every few weeks, look around at our own pace and get lunch afterward. I’m not an art historian and won’t pretend to understand everything on the wall.

An online friend I’d never met showed up when my actual friends didn’t

I’d been talking to someone from an online gaming group for about five months. We lived in the same city but had never met.

Last weekend I was moving apartments. Two friends who had promised to help canceled that morning, so I complained about it in our group chat. He asked for the address, showed up an hour later and helped carry boxes until everything was done.

It was slightly weird meeting for the first time while both of us were sweating and carrying a couch down three flights of stairs, but we ended up getting dinner afterward.

I’m still a little surprised that the person who showed up was someone I technically hadn’t met yet.

38F looking for a female reading buddy

I read mostly thrillers, horror, historical fiction, and the occasional romance novel. I’d love to find another woman who wants to choose a book every month and discuss it casually.

This wouldn’t be a serious book club with deadlines. We can complain about characters, guess the ending, and admit when neither of us finished the book.

What’s the last book you genuinely enjoyed?

Looking for honest first impressions on Buddito’s activity-based friend matching

I work with the team behind Buddito, which is focused on helping adults find platonic friends through specific activities rather than dating-style profiles.

The basic flow is meant to answer a practical question: “What do you want company for?” Someone might be looking for a gaming partner, hiking buddy, concert friend, workout partner, study companion, or simply another person to explore their city with.

We’re currently trying to learn whether the purpose is immediately understandable and where the experience feels confusing. The most useful feedback would cover three areas:

Whether the distinction between friendship and dating is clear

Whether activity-based matching feels more natural than a general friendship profile

What safety or trust information you would expect before talking with someone

If you take a look, blunt feedback is welcome. Please mention what you expected to happen, what confused you, and which section you would change first.
