[29/F] Seeking US book friend 💕

Hiii! I live in NC and have a rapidly growing physical book library as well as a Kindle with KU! I don’t have many friends around me with an interest in reading like I do and I’d love to be able to discuss and read with someone. Male or female, doesn’t matter to me! I’m also on the EST time zone if that’s a thing for you.
I have the ability to read more than 1 book at a time, my max is 4. lol I am currently in the dark romance genre right now, but I’ve also delved into sci-fi, self help and a small selection of poetry works also.

I’m not a slow reader but I’m not super sonic either lol, I average a start to finish in 2 days. I read more during the weekends as I work a 9-5p during the week. I’m open to Reddit communication or moving to other socials, possibly texting. If you love to read and want a friend, message me!

Last Read: Fragile Facade - Nordika Night

Current Read: Him - Sabrina Bowman & Tempting Venom - Rina Kent

Next Read: Painter’s Obsession - Luna K Wicked or The Mercenary & The Mortician - Alexandra St Pierre.

29M [India] - Looking for a buddy reader to tackle "The Honjin Murders" by Seishi Yokomizo!

Hey everyone!

I just started The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo and I'm looking for a casual buddy reader to jump into it with me. I've been meaning to dive into more Japanese crime fiction.

I'm looking for someone to check in with as we progress through the chapters, swap theories on who the killer is. No high-pressure deadlines - just a relaxed, fun pace that fits into a normal daily schedule.

Send me a DM if you're interested!

24F looking for a reading buddy from US

Hi! I am new here and just recently have been getting into books. I found few partners here but most had really thick accents that couldn’t continue with.

I’m mostly reading to get better at my speaking skills and I’m from US. If anyone is interesting in reading together please hit me up! I would love to read everyday on call with a partner.

Almost finished with Throne of Glass, would love someone to discuss it with!

I am honestly struggling to finish this book because I do not want it to be over. I actually returned Kingdom of Ash and waited to check it out again just to put it off. But now I am around 65% and overwhelmed at the thought I just don't have anyone to talk about the series with! And next I plan to start Crescent City, so I am ready when the new ACOTAR book comes out in October!

28M looking for a book buddy 📚

Hi everyone.I found one book buddy, so I thought I would see if anyone else is interested. I usually read non fiction, but lately I have been on a romance streak and have really been enjoying it. I am three books in already and have my next one lined up. I also enjoy fiction and historical fiction. It would be nice to have someone to chat with about books, swap recommendations, or maybe do the occasional buddy read. No pressure, just looking for people who enjoy reading. I do prefer Asian and European time zones since it is easier to stay in touch. If that sounds like you, send me a message.

Books that can change our lives

I have bought a lot of self help books, all popular titles like Atomic habits, How to win friends, etc
But I haven’t completed any of the book.

Main problem which I feel is,
- they are so dense and boring
- and very hard to remember

Me and my professor were discussing this problem and we thought of a solution on which I want to hear thoughts of you people,

What about if I convert the lesson into a comic, where you have to take decisions and accordingly the story will change,

Eg: if you selected a wrong dialogue, you can see the reaction of the other person.

Hence we can solve these 2 problems by
- making reading visual
- and lessons where you can apply the learnings
Would love to hear your thoughts:

Welcoming all readers! Join our cozy book club before our Romance read begins 🌸💕📚

Hi everyone! My name is Eunoia🧚🏽

Back in January, I started a discord book club because I wanted to get back into reading consistently and thought it would be so much more fun to do it with other people. It’s been such a fun and rewarding experience so far😭💕 We’ve already worked our way through several genres, and now we’re moving into romance!

We’ve currently reopened expressions of interest for new readers before we begin our romance book selection, so if you’ve been wanting to be part a space like this, now’s the perfect time to have a say in what we’ll be reading.

The concept is simple. Instead of watching a show together and talking about it afterward, why not read a book together and discuss it? It’s a fun way to stay motivated, discover new books, and hear different perspectives while building a reading habit. Whether you’re getting back into reading or already fly through books, there’s a place for you here!

What our book club looks like:

📚 Monthly genres with submitted book nominations and community voting
📚 Weekly reading goals to help keep everyone on track
📚 Two discussion calls each week where we chat about the book together
📚 Fun extras after each read like movie nights, character casting, Goodreads reviews, and more

FYI, our readers are currently mostly between 22 and 27 years old, with people from North America and Europe, and it’s a great mix of ladies and gents. All adults are welcome!

Comment below or send me a message if you’re interested in being book buddies🧚🏽

Come get cozy with us!☕️🧸

(Not self-promo, just a space for fellow book lovers to read together which I’m sure is the point of this space x)

The Stormlight archive

Hi guys! I am 21F and looking forward to start the Stormlight archive, since it's a longer series, I want to have someone to talk to, discuss and keep each other motivated.

If someone wants to join me for the read-through, I will be more than happy!

Plus point if you want to read the whole of cosmere eventually, I have already read Tress of the emerald sea and Mistborn 1st era, the original trilogy. So after Stormlight, I want to read era 2 and other books in the universe.

And I am a fast reader (when I am really invested) so I would appreciate someone who has a similar pace.

looking for people who want to read good books, yap, and maybe become friends <3

Okay, hear me out.

For the past few years, I’ve been so focused on university, work, and trying to figure life out that I realized I’ve been missing something really important…….meeting new people. I’m 24, from Poland, and I’d genuinely love to build a little online community with people who enjoy reading, talking, learning from each other, and just… being curious about the world.

So I’m thinking about starting an online book club, but not the kind where everyone treats it like an assignment. I don’t want this to be stiff or overly academic. I don’t want anyone to feel pressured to have the smartest analysis or finish every single page. I want it to be fun. I want us to read amazing books, talk about them, laugh, overshare a little, exchange ideas, recommend books to each other, and somehow end up talking about life, travel, philosophy, art, relationships, culture, dreams, random shower thoughts… literally anything.

The plan is to make it online (probably on Discord or another platform we all agree on), so it’s easy for everyone to join. We could meet every week or every other week, chat about the book we’re reading. Basically, I want a space where people can read, learn from each other, exchange perspectives, and also just… exist. A place where it’s completely normal to spend 30 minutes discussing the book and then another two hours yapping about everything else. I really miss that feeling of finding “your people.” The kind of conversations where you look at the clock and suddenly it’s been three hours.

As for the books……I love classics, modern classics, and literature from around the world. I’d love for us to read books that make us think, introduce us to new cultures and ideas, and stay with us long after we’ve finished them. But I definitely don’t want this to be my reading list. I want everyone to recommend books, vote on what we read, and shape the club together. More than a book club, I’m hoping this becomes a little community. Somewhere people can make friends, feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, learn something new, and have conversations that leave you feeling inspired instead of drained.

You don’t have to be someone who reads 100 books a year. You don’t need a literature degree. You don’t need to have read all the classics. More than anything  I want this to be about the people. I’d love to create a supportive, welcoming little corner of the internet where people actually look forward to showing up. A place where it’s okay to disagree, where everyone feels heard, where we can be ourselves, make genuine connections, and maybe even make a few really good friends along the way.

A little about me: I’m pretty outgoing, very open-minded, and I genuinely love getting to know people. I love hearing about what excites someone, what they’re passionate about, what books changed their life, or even just what they’ve been thinking about lately. I think everyone has an interesting story, and I’d love to meet people from different backgrounds and different parts of the world.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, send me a DM! Tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? How old are you? What’s your favorite book, or a book that completely changed the way you think? If enough people are interested, I’ll make a group chat, we’ll figure out the platform together, vote on our first book, and hopefully create something really special.

Anyone interested in joining a history book club with some newbies?

Right now there are 2 of us who are interested in the American Civil War and other histories - WWI, WWII, etc and we want to start a bookclub to get other like-minded people together. We will be reading non-fiction as well as historical fiction. Right now we are starting with Gods and Generals by Jeff Shaara.

I believe the group will be set up in Discord, but there will only be text...no cameras. If you have other ideas where we could chat about the books, just let me know. Bookclubs.com is another option.

DM me if you are interested or if you have other questions.

22F- looking for some book buddies

A med student here...

Have really less time reading books other than my own textbooks

But have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember although lost touch

Kind of in between some rude comments from a friend of not being interesting enough to talk to...

So would really like someone who can suggest books, read with me,not make me feel inferior for not knowing enough

It should be a way that we can both figure out together, straightening each other throughout the process

And not something rubbish like you slow my progress down...

Hi ! I am planning to start reading the series : the song of fire and Ice by George R.R Martin. Anyone interested in reading it together ?

Hi ! So I have tried reading books together and it really makes it more exciting especially if the lore has deep history and plot to understand or it has philosophical elements that we can discuss since we all have different perspectives or viewpoints.

Since everyone knows this classic since it's the OG book of Game of Thrones and everyone says it's really good. It would be really exciting to read it together with someone.

And we can also learn old Valyrian language from Duolingo together !

So if anyone is interested in it, send me a dm !

I couldn't find the exact flair for this, so I am seeking a book buddy for this particular series and if it goes well then we can read more books together. So nothing fixed or long term to be specific.

✨ Looking for a few ACOTAR first-time readers to start a spoiler-free buddy read!

Hi everyone!

I've finally decided it's time to give A Court of Thorns and Roses a chance. 😊 I'm 28F btw.

I've heard so many people talk about this series over the years, and with the next book coming out in a few months, it feels like the perfect time to finally dive into the world of Prythian.

I'll be reading acotar for the first time, and I thought it would be so much more fun to share the experience instead of reading alone.

I'm looking for a few people who are also:

  • starting the series for the first time (or don't mind rereading without spoilers!)
  • interested in discussing chapters, sharing theories, favorite quotes, and reactions as we go
  • committed to keeping everything 100% spoiler-free

My idea isn't a super formal book club, just a small, friendly group where we can check in every few chapters, chat about what happened, and enjoy experiencing the story together.

We could use Discord, Reddit chat, or whatever works best for everyone.

If you've been waiting for the perfect excuse to finally start acotar... maybe this is it. ✨

Leave a comment or send me a DM if you'd like to join!

37F Looking to chat about books

Hi there, I'm looking for someone to chat about current reads/books in general with. We don't have to read the same books or genres, I'm just interested in sharing with other readers about our experiences while reading. I read mostly horror and cozy mysteries with the occasional classic. I'm also a working mom who doesn't have as much time as I'd like to read so it takes me a while to finish a book. Please be 25+ years old
