Why do people still think cardio & strength training are two mutually exclusive options.
As if doing one means you don't have to do the other.

Every particular hobby/interest, be it gardening, fashion, basketball will always have that 1% that absolutely dominates the discourse and will attempt to optimise every single facet of it to the point where they forget the entire purpose of it was to have fun.
Naturally these type always gravitate towards the subreddits where they can enforce the correct way to have fun with an iron fist. Questions by newbies only serving as opportunities to mock and diminish.
Especially when people chase it to the extent they refuse to train their midsection at all and it leads to people looking like everything above their waist is inflated.
Honestly, I think a well developed core is what separates an athlete from a bodybuilder. Like your body is actually useful and can do some work and isn't just for show.
Inspired by a co-worker whose diet consists of junk food and items only available on the kids menu. Constantly complaining of health issues that would be fixed if he just ate a fucking vegetable once in a while.
Boxing doesn't work in the streets
Grappling doesn't work in the streets
Kicks don't work in the streets
How many street fights are people actually seeing on a daily basis to justify such an obsession?
