Need Some Guidance/Direction
Firstly, I apologize if this is not allowed in this sub. Secondly, sorry for any errors, typing this on mobile.
I am 22F living in California. Graduated from university last year, moved back here to get back on my feet and have been working for a little. Currently I am interviewing for a second job, one related to my career. That being said, I need some help. Any help or direction would be appreciated.
When I was in highschool (junior to senior year) my family was evicted from our rental house. It was a huge loss that I thought I’d overcome. My family consists of myself, my mother, and two younger sisters. At the time, I did all that I could to help lesson the burden, all of my paychecks from work being used to pay for hotel stays and food.
After going to college, my mom was accepted into a program that helped to get rehoused and they covered the costs for a short period of time. I’m not aware of everything that has happened while I was away, but my mother’s finances are in terrible shape. Car repossessions, and now, another eviction that she’s being very evasive and secretive about.
My question is, what do I do. I’m working yet somehow not really saving because I’m having to lend money out to her. I was trying to save up for a car, and hopefully being mobile will open up my job opportunities, however the most pressing matter at the moment is housing.
I live in Los Angeles, the housing crisis is real here. I’m anxious with the possibility of surviving in hotels ones again, becoming stagnant at a time I should be growing.
If anyone has any advice, and hints towards resources I could look into, it would be grateful appreciated.
If you read this all, thank you very much for your time.
TLDR: I need direction into resources for rapid rehousing/emergency housing/ aid for homelessness in Los Angeles.
