yoga following cardiac rehab

Hello yogis. I hade open heart surgery to replace my diseased mitral valve. After 6 weeks, 36 sessions of cardiac rehab I thought I was cleared by my cardiologist to resume all activities. I took two gentle yoga classes and pulled a muscle in my left hip. I know I need to take it slow and easy. Any advice? For background, for 23 years I practiced the ashtanga yoga primary and second series. I know I will not be able to return to that.
