Freaking out

My application is ready, I was able to assign half my LoRs today but the most important LoR, the one coming from the attending of the specialty I’m applying to hasn’t even uploaded his letter. I’ve personally asked him and he said yes back in June. I asked for his availability to meet in person and go over my CV and PS if that would help him make the letter with no answer. I sent reminders last week by email with the deadline with no answer. I sent an email and 3 text messages this week with not even a thumbs up acknowledging that my message was seen. I asked again to meet with no answer. I’m afraid he’s not going to write it.

I’m in a very busy inpatient rotation right now 12 hour shifts everyday, trying to make time for this attending in case I catch him in his side of the hospital to ask in person but he and I are both busy. And now I’m pissed because is it really that hard to answer a message? If they don’t want to write it why not just tell me so I can move on and figure something else out. I find this so disrespectful honestly and discouraging.

PEM fellowship LoR

How many LoR from PEM attendings are necessary to make the application strong? I already have one from my PD and one from a PICU attending. Got rejected by a PEM attending not because I’m a bad resident or poor clinician or suck in my ED rotation (I actually got good feedback) but because I don’t have enough ✨QIs, research, volunteer work or community projects✨i have the necessary projects for graduation since I’m not that into research but c’mon…I thought LoRs where about more than that.

Is PEM really that competitive to not even consider writing a LoR if one doesn’t have 10 extracurricular projects running?

Silly post after finishing KoA. I’m pretty sure it took ~ 3 weeks for Yrene to fully heal Chaol’s magically-destroyed spine the first time…now how is it possible that fixing Elide’s incorrectly healed broken ankle takes 3 weeks or more too?! Spine vs. Ankle. 🤔MAGICALLY destroyed AND infested spine vs. A vulgar broken ankle. SJM doesn’t want my girl to walk straight. That’s all. 😂
