Worth it to dispute?

I sold an item, shipping was pretty expensive. Buyer wants to return, says reason is “wrong item sent”. I ask for clarification; buyer says “I needed style X and this is style Y”. I described them item as style Y and photographed it correctly; this was entirely the buyer’s mistake.

Buyer sent the return (paid for their own return shipping), and I got it. I’m perfectly willing to send a refund for the item of course, but not for the expensive shipping. I also don’t want to accept being at fault for a return; I’ve been selling on eBay for years and have 600+ positive feedback.

My question is, is it worth it to dispute the reason with eBay? If they side with the buyer against all evidence, which for what I understand is usually what happens, would I receive any negative consequences for that? Could eBay make me retroactively pay for their return shipping?

TL;DR: buyer mistakenly bought item, paid to return it but said I was at fault for the return. Is it a good idea to dispute this so I’m not dinged for this as a seller and don’t lose money on the shipping costs?
