Read/reading books on LAPD, opinions/recommendations?

I just finished 'Killing Season' and thought it was a solid book, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Am about to start 'Boot' and wondered what current/former officer's thoughts were on this and the previously mentioned book.

Also if there's any recommendations on non-fiction books about the Department.

I'm eyeing picking up "To Protect and to Serve: The LAPD's Century of War in the City of Dreams" as well as 'LAPD '53.'

Appreciate any and all thoughts.

Interested in a book, don't want to buy through corpo source, would be interested in swap/penpal to acquire

This is a bit of a strange one, and I didn't know where to post it so I will gladly re-post if not appropriate.

I an interested in the JSDF, and was made aware of their deployment to Iraq early in the GWOT, and that a book had been written about it.

I can't find a copy easily, and out of a very annoying stubbornness want to give as little money to Amazon as possible. The book is:

『自衛隊イラク日報 日誌から見える隊員達の生活と素顔』(ライフブックス)

or

"Japan Self-Defense Forces Iraq Daily Reports: The Lives and True Faces of the Soldiers as Seen Through the Diaries" (Life Books)

If anyone reading this has a copy, or can source a physical copy, I'd be open to some kind of exchange or paying for your trouble and shipping. Also just general penpal, whatever else.

Again, if not a correct place for this please let me know, this has been my white whale for months.

Just got an email about the fitness test being changed, and applicants prior to the new implementation date are locked into the old standard.

Any news on the new event/s in general?

Gonna make time to retake it and boost my score before I get locked in.
