I designed a LEGO pirate alley as a book nook 🏴‍☠️

I wanted to capture the atmosphere of a shady little alley in a pirate town - the kind of place filled with dive bars, suspicious characters and pirates spending their hard-earned coins.

The result is this LEGO book nook, with weathered buildings, colourful awnings, climbing greenery, barrels, a cannon and a mysterious boarded-up archway.
I designed it to fit between books on a shelf, but it can also be displayed open as a standalone scene.

I’ve submitted it to LEGO Ideas and I thought this community might appreciate it, since it combines LEGO building with the book nook concept.

What do you think of the idea?

My expanded version of Barracuda Bay

I started with the original Barracuda Bay and gradually rebuilt and expanded it into something much more detailed.

I kept the main character of the original set, but added new structures, more details, extra activity and lots of small things throughout the build to make it feel more like a living pirate settlement.

There are also quite a few changes to the original layout and buildings.

I modified the Barracuda Bay set

I took the original Barracuda Bay and rebuilt and expanded it with a lot more detail, activity and little things happening throughout the build.

It’s still recognizable as Barracuda Bay, but with quite a few changes and additions.

Port Royal: The Gun Shop

Every pirate town needs a place to stock up before the next voyage.

This Gun Shop is the latest addition I’m sharing from Port Royal, my custom LEGO pirate town that grew from an expanded Eldorado Fortress into a much larger MOC over the past two years.

I tried to make each building feel like it had a purpose within the town, and this one became the obvious place for soldiers, merchants and pirates alike to buy their weapons and supplies.

As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the build.

The Gun Shop: Chapter 3 in my LEGO Pirates MOC town Port Royal

This is the third section of Port Royal, my custom LEGO pirate town that started two years ago as an expansion of the new LEGO Eldorado Fortress.

The Gun Shop supplies the town with muskets, pistols, cannons and everything needed to defend the town.. or equip the next pirate crew.

I’m sharing Port Royal one building at a time, and I’d love to hear what you think!

Building Port Royal: The Merchant’s House - The 2nd chapter in my LEGO Pirates MOC

After deciding that LEGO Eldorado Fortress will be a part of a small caribbean town called Port Royal, I added the next building.

This is the Merchant’s House. It’s like a general store where most things can be traded or bought. The Merchant himself lives on top of shop and his quarters streches further a far on top of the weapon’s which will be the next building to share.

More sections of Port Royal will follow as I share the different parts of the town.

I rebuilt the new LEGO Eldorado Fortress, and it became the beginning of my Port Royal MOC

This started two years ago as an expansion of the new LEGO Eldorado Fortress. What began as a single MOC kept growing until it became Port Royal — my LEGO pirate town.

I’ll be sharing the different parts of Port Royal over the coming weeks, starting with the fortress that began it all.

Hope you enjoy it!
