You've seen the show HOW many times ... ??

Honestly, I'm just curious. I know there are many on this subreddit who've been back to see the show multiple times, but I'm wondering how many times some people have actually seen it ... I'm just a newby really, with my one viewing of the show on tour and one on Broadway; I know there are many who've seen it WAY more times than that ....

Reeve's take on why Orpheus turns around

I just read the excerpt below in an article with interview segments with Reeve, Eva and Amber, and I wanted to share it with anyone who didn't read it yet. Reeve has said the first part of this before -- he said it as part of his farewell speech at his final Broadway performance -- but I never really 'got it' until I read this whole quote.

"“I always get asked, ‘Why do you turn around?,’ and I always say, ‘So you don’t have to,’” says Carney. “I mean that, genuinely. That’s been a lesson for me, for us, for the audience. We do not have to turn around. I firmly believe that. I see this as less a tragedy than a beautiful story of hope—and I think that’s why people love it. Hermes suggests this is the story we’ll keep telling, over and over. I love when people tell me, ‘I keep going back to see a different ending.’ That’s what this is about; it’s about you, about how you can be that different ending.”"

Here is the whole article -- definitely worth reading: https://letterboxd.com/journal/hadestown-the-musical-interview

Reeve & Eva back at the Green Room NYC, August 7 & 9

I love it when they do these shows! Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada will be back at the Green Room 42 in NYC on Friday, August 7 and Sunday, August 9. Last time around they did three shows, and all three sold out -- tickets for August are available but going fast!

My wife and I saw them at the Green Room in February, one of those sold out shows -- we had a stageside table, which is just so cool, you're literally 10 feet from the performers. They did a whole range of Broadway songs and popular music, and they are really entertaining to see live -- the Green Room is quite small so they are able to interact with the audience a lot (Eva complimented my wife at one point ...). Here is video that I took with my phone, of them performing All I've Ever Known -- as Eva says at the end, it was their first time singing it together as a married couple ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSyEdT2RVSg
