Am I making a right choice? 😭

I’ve received fully funded fellowship at hanyang university and I don’t even have TOPIK 1. We were told that the classes for this specific scholarship students - the first semester is going to be taught entirely in Korean.

Basically it’s structured - 3.5 months of major related courses + 2.5 months of Korean language training every semester and TOPIK L4 is the graduation requirement.

Do you think I’ll be able to handle it? My major is going to be in AI.

I’ve heard people - since it’s engineering related field, most terms are going to be in English and graduate level schools wouldn’t have many exams but more assignments and projects and can be coded and submitted. But I really don’t know if I’m making a right choice. I’ve my flight next week.

Moving abroad with multiple Indian bank accounts - can I just leave some dormant?

I have 5 bank accounts in India. I mainly use 2 (DCB and IDFC), and both of those banks offer non-face-to-face resident → NRO/NRE conversion while I’m abroad, so I’m planning to keep them.

The other 3 accounts (2 govt banks — SBI & Union Bank — and 1 Kotak bank) are basically unused but I do maintain a minimum balance.

The branches where I opened them have pretty bad customer service, and I really don’t want to deal with them after moving abroad.

My plan is to transfer all the money from those 3 accounts to my primary 2 accounts and basically leave the 3 accounts empty/dormant instead of closing them.

Would this cause any issues after I become an NRI? Or is it better to formally close them before leaving India?

Is there a Daily Cash withdrawal limit in atms?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to buy a laptop off Karrot (당근마켓) in Seoul that costs over 2 million KRW. Since I’m a foreigner without a local Korean bank account, I can't use Karrot Pay or do a local wire transfer.

My foreign debit/credit card has no daily withdrawal limit set by my home bank, but I know Korean ATMs have their own restrictions.

Can I withdraw2M+ from any ATM in Seoul?
What is the best way to handle a transaction this size with a local seller on Karrot?

Any advice or recommended banks/ATMs would be appreciated!

Is crossed arms considered rude in Korea?

When talking to elders, like when you’re engaged in a deep conversation, atleast in our culture, we cross our arms - which is inherent. I’ve seen that the Korean ppl consider it rude, is it tho? None has approached me and said it’s a bit rude or offensive or none corrected me. I’ve come across a yt video and I’m not sure if it’s a thing in Korea? I’ve not faced this problem in Japan or Taiwan or China before tho. None has questioned me and everyone’s been friendly to me..
