Why do I keep getting cavities even with good oral hygiene?

Hi everyone, 27(F) I have multiple small cavities. I’m honestly confused why i get so much cavities because I brush twice daily, try to keep my teeth clean, and still keep getting cavities.

I also have a horizontally positioned wisdom tooth, and I’m wondering if that will also get cavities by trapping food and bacteria around the back teeth.

I wanted to ask:
-Which fluoride mouthwash do dentists recommend?
-Is an electric rotating/oscillating toothbrush better than a manual brush for cavity prevention?
- I have GIC, composite, and amalgam fillings — can a rotating electric toothbrush damage or loosen them?
-Can a horizontal wisdom tooth increase the chance of cavities in nearby teeth?

Any advice or personal experiences would really help because I’m getting frustrated and worried about future cavities.

Mild TMJ symptoms need advice

Hi everyone,
Recently my dentist told me I have mild TMJ, but after a recent tooth filling I feel my symptoms became more noticeable because I had to keep my mouth open for a long time during the procedure.

I used to chew food on the left side more.

These are the symptoms I’m having now:
-Jaw feels stiff in the morning when i open to brush and i hear clicking sound at that time on the left.
-I cannot keep my mouth open for long at the dentist
- Very Mild ear pain on one left side after the dental treatment, it happens only sometimes
- When I open my mouth wide and close it, my jaw shifts from left to right
- Now I feel stiffness when i open my mouth very wide
- Also in the office, especially in AC for long hours, if I don’t speak or open my mouth much for some time, my jaw feels stiff when I try to open it again and I hear a clicking sound on the left side.

I’m honestly getting anxious about whether this can become serious.

For people who experienced similar TMJ symptoms:
- What helped reduce the stiffness and clicking?
- Did ear pain happen for you too?
- Did jaw exercises, hot packs, or soft foods help?
- Should I avoid opening my mouth too wide now?
- Did anyone recover without major treatment?

Would really appreciate advice or experiences because this is all new to me. Thanks 🙏
