“Better sleep” but still groggy and fatigued?
Let me start off by saying I was *just* prescribed 15mg Mirt yesterday for sleep and anxiety and today is my first day after taking it. I know it will take a bit of time for my system to acclimate to the drug and I shouldn’t consider the extreme grogginess I’m feeling to be the norm. (Although it’s 2:45pm, I’ve had a ton of caffeine and if I close my eyes I’ll be out in about 30 seconds.
However, I’ve been doing a lot of research yesterday and today and two main things have me worried: the grogginess and the potential withdrawal.
I’ve seen a lot of anecdotes that Mirt helps people get good sleep but that they feel groggy and fatigued during the day. My main question is this: what does “good sleep” even mean if I’m going to be groggy all day? The doctor told me it would help with my insomnia but what good is putting my body to sleep if I’m not actually going to be rested from it? A big symptom for why I saw a psychiatrist is that I am constantly fatigued which leads to a feeling of being removed from reality (like I’m a step back from what I’m experiencing) and a low sense of panic from that feeling. If I’m going to feel groggy still, I’m not sure how much this drug will help.
Are the accounts I’ve read the exception to the norm, or should I expect to continue to feel groggy all day and night due to the dosage?
