Hair studies
I asked my wife to send me some reference photos for hair styles and ended up drawing for about two hours.

I asked my wife to send me some reference photos for hair styles and ended up drawing for about two hours.
Next chapter will come out in hopefully a month or so and I’ll finally get to show off this guys fighting skill!
Manga is called Gashadokuro on Mangaplus creators if you’re interested.
Recently started watching movies then pausing when I saw something I felt would be fun to draw or otherwise help me learn, liked how this one came out so I thought I’d post it here.
This illustration was me trying to draw action using no reference and some basic posing, but I feel like it looks too stiff. I plan on having a fight scene on the next chapter of my manga does anyone have advice to make it easier? Especially in a storytelling context (like panel to panel).
I have nothing to say I just wanted to draw something fun.
Side note: my wife once told me that all my girl characters don’t really look feminine enough, I hope this breaks the mold.
I’ve almost finished the third chapter of my manga and wanted to post these because I’m happy with how they are coming out.
Note my manga does read left to right, I know a lot of people hate that but I couldn’t force myself to do it backwards when I’ve become so used to writing this way. The storyboarding just comes more naturally.
As title suggests whipped this up during a long car ride pretty happy with how it came out for being a quick sketch.
This scene is intended to show a more contemplative side to the doctor who has up until this point only had dialogue relevant specifically to his wife and daughters condition.
I wanted to explore his role as an overprotective father from the lens of an outsider character (his patient). As well as his reluctance to learn how to dance!
Two characters that I’m developing, the one on the left would be a villain who cuts deals with Yokai and the one on the right would be a “good influence” character trying and failing to take him off of a path of destruction.
These two are from my manga Gashadokuro, the man is a necromancer and the girl is his protege. I’m happy with how this came out since it’s pretty sketchy (the line art was originally drawn on paper before being worked into procreate).
I usually draw the backgrounds pretty fast and loose for my manga Gashadokuro (I almost never use a real perspective grid and sort of just eye-ball things lol). But I’ve noticed some of my backgrounds look super amateur so I stepped it up for chapter 3.
This time I thought “oh what the hell let’s use a perspective grid” and a shot that normally takes me 15 minutes to do (mediocre-ly) ended up taking close to an hour.
Anyways this page isn’t done still needs more details and screen tone but just wanted to share this silly-ness because I won’t always have time to sit and draw a background lol.
Edit: supposed to say “shot” not “shit” lol
This is an illustration of my character Han Magi, he’s a priest in charge of performing banishing rituals for Yokai that stray too far into the land of the living.

I couldn’t embed the link and put a picture so sorry the link is just pasted below!
It took me a month to finish this in between work and life and I’m really proud of how it came out.

I was playing around with the idea of a sword wielding woman sitting around thinking about what she’s going to do next and did a quick mockup of a simple background with tiles and an open view of her surroundings.
The first version had no textures on the tile so it came off more repetitive and flat, the second version I added small cracks to make the tiles feel old and I think it did a lot to add character to the scene.
What do you guys think?
Drew something without a guideline or goal and liked the finished result enough to give it some coloring (although I’m pretty bad at coloring).
Please read left to right.
Initially I tried to post this without writing too much but it was auto removed for not having enough words lol. That being said I’m really proud of the work I’ve been able to do on this manga so far and hope to make into a publishable series someday.
The series revolves around a young necromancer who is asked to perform a forbidden ritual to resurrect his old friends daughter after she dies… by sacrificing the old friend in question.
If that sounds interesting to you check out chapter one on Mangaplus, the series is called “Gashadokuro”
