My internet speed has severely dropped on ONE device after the latest Intel WLAN drivers update.

I own a Thinkbook 16 G7+ IAH and I've been experiencing concerning unstable WiFi recently.

It has a Intel BE201 320 MHz WiFi card.

On my other laptop, I'm getting internet speeds of 500-700 mb/s downloads and 200 mb/s uploads, while on this one, I can only get at max 70-80 mb/s downloads and 50 mb/s uploads.

I'm using Windows 11, the latest version as the time of posting.

Things I've tried to fix it:

  • Updating drivers. Doing this only made it so that I couldn't connect to WiFi at all. I'm using the 23.3 Intel driver, and I'm updating to 24.4 drivers.
  • Trying out 5GHz. This doesn't work and I'm stuck using 2.4GHz even though my Wifi chip supports 5GHz and 6Ghz.
  • I also tried rolling back to older drivers, but mine was already the oldest one.
  • I did the bufferbloat test and got an F grade.
  • None of the other devices I own are experiencing this.
