Hi, I have just bought a 2021 Macbook pro (M1 pro, 16gb/512gb) with a broken power button, to repair. I figured it must be disconnected, or something like that, but when I disassembled the laptop, I saw that the cable of the power button is torn.

I know that these laptops used to have their power buttons paired to the motherboard, so if replaced, the touch id wouldn't work.
Is this still the case, or a genuine power button can be paired with the board via repair assistant?

What would you do in this situation?
