I’m sure every location has one.
But these Crew peeps who march around barking orders at their Crew co-workers need to get a fucking life already!

I only take orders from my superiors! HOWEVER if you’re in just Crew but also an SL yes of course I’ll respect your SL title. And take polite (yes POLITE) orders from you to keep your section looking great and functioning well.

But you wannabe SLs and wannabe Mates ……. Take a chill pill PUHLEEEASE? Cuz you ain’t my boss ……… yet!

I’m guessing that now the survey results are out Mates be acting right now. Ok this may only last a short while but it’s nice to be treated like adults and not like high school kids (even tho some of us Crew ARE high school kids)

I’m guessing many of the Mates were given a good ‘talking to’ at their own Reviews.

Fingers crossed that this change lasts a loooong time 🤞🏻

If one is working Friday July 3 but NOT working Saturday July 4 does one still get Premuim Holiday pay for Friday 3rd?

I'm a tad dissapointed at how many did NOT feel safe being honest while reviewing our managament team. Hey I get it, we don't want to put a target on our backs (if we don't already have one:). But how can we hope for ANY change or progress if we just tell them what they want to hear?

I've already spoken with a Lawyer and they assure me that they CANNOT legally fire us just for making a complaint in the Survey or anywhere for that matter.

If they do you'd better get a lawyer!

But yeah I see why many are scared. I really do. I just want to see changes in the company especially in the way the Mates are trained. Because they wouldn't get away with this crap in other companies ...... or would they?

If any of us Crew have the cojones to speak the truth (BTW I DID) while reviewing their Captain & their Mates does anything actually change moving forward?

I ask as one Mate in particular hands down gets the worst reviews and comments of them all. Yet they still have their job. They are still pulling the same bs that’s creating a very toxic work environment for most of us Crew. This has been going on for years yet nothing has really changed.

Are some Mates just immune to negative survey results. I just don’t get it. Cuz if crew members get such a high degree of negative complains I’m sure they’d be let go in a heartbeat.

What exactly constitutes a write up and does it differ from a reprimand ’meeting’ with two Mates or a Mate and the Captain?

Some of us may be aware of why we have waaaay less SKUs than many of the he other major grocery stores. It’s partially to reduce or even prevent ‘choice paralysis’.
And it REALY works but ……

We’ve kinda replaced it with brain paralysis no? How many of our customers do you see walking around the store like zombies just buying for buying sake? Yeah I guess that’s what we want. Just spend spend spend!
But I often wonder if their brains just stop working as soon as they enter our stores.

It appears that many of them have just forgotten how to think for themselves.

We had a customer about to purchase about $500+ worth of groceries. At the point where she was about to pay by card she said “Oh! That’s not my cart”
She was on her phone the whole time UNTIL she’d realized she was pushing around someone else’s cart. We had to have a Mate do a COMPLETE cancellation then some poor Crew person had to restock everything in the cart. How selfish of the customer!!

I wish we could find a way to discourage too much customer cell phone usage while they are shopping. Or at least find a way to have them concentrate on THEIR OWN cart!

When you’re on reg and you see this what do you think is going on? While I appreciate that EVERY customer is totally within their rights to do this it usually feels like they as just waiting for the cashier to fuck up and double scan an item or so thing. I do find it profoundly annoying!

Wish they’d keep an eye on the pile of groceries accumulating on the reg area instead and just help me bag 😠

Customer: “you look bored let’s change that”

Me: “I am NEVER bored here”

Customer: “this is the best part where you bag my groceries first me”

Me: thinking …… yeah I bet ya entitled, lazy bastard!
