Why did they drag William and Julia's Marriage out so long?

So I'm rewatching from the beginning and this question just keeps coming up for me. I'm on Season 7 and they are still pulling the will they won't they crap. I forget when it is that they finally get together, I know they do cause I fell off around s15 before.

It's funny what things stick out. Like they haven't even introduced the Newsoms yet. I thought they were around for ages.

But anyway, I know there are some contentious opinions on their relationship (and rightly so) but the question for me is why it takes so damn long for them to get married.

Was Helena not on board with the idea? Was there some reason behind the production screen that they keep inventing reasons for them to not be married? I know Crabtree keeps getting shafted cause Johnny liked the bit (which annoys the shit out of me as well).

From what I recall once they are married it didn't change too much about their relationship (as it shouldn't). So what's the deal?

Is it really so simple as "the writers wanted to drag it out."? Cause that feels insane to me. Who would ever think that dragging out the romance plot between your leads for over seven bloody seasons would be a good idea?!

I'm hoping ya'll have some idea cause I've not been able to find anything online.

Help with Homebrew Magic Item Creation.

Hello, I want to preface this post that I really don't think it's possible to do what I would like to be able to do. But based on my Googling I can't really be sure if I'm not missing something. So I figured I'd come here and ask the homebrew wizards.

My DM and I have worked out this slightly more useful version of the Ersatz Eye

Solanum Tuberosum's Magic Eye

This magical eye replaces a real one that was lost or removed. While Solanum Tuberosum's Magic Eye is attuned, you can see through the tiny orb as though it were your natural eye. You can insert or remove Solanum Tuberosum's Magic Eye as a Magic action, and it can’t be removed against your will while you are alive.

While Solanum Tuberosum's Magic Eye is attuned but removed from its socket, you have disadvantage on all attack rolls, dexterity checks, and dexterity saving throws, as your split vision disrupts your field of view and depth perception.

I was hoping that there was potentially a way to add a toggle button to the item to enable/disable the disadvantages. I know they don't actually do anything for rolling I just like having the symbols to help me keep track, and we aren't rolling on Dndbeyond anyway.

As is, my workaround is just having the modifiers on the item and I'll just attune it on my sheet whenever I take it out so they apply.

I have a feeling that my workaround is the only possible way, but again I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some wizardry that I'm missing cause I'm inexperienced when it comes to making homebrew on Dndbeyond.

I keep getting Rate-Limited

So I got the email that I passed the assessment yesterday and logged in to see projects. I needed to do Identity verification which seemed normal. Took the pictures etc.

But ever since it never actually completes? When I log in it just says "Processing Identity Verification" for a bit and then eventually I get blocked for a while because I'm "rate-limited"

I saw a post from like 10 months ago where a lot of people were having the same issue but I haven't found any similar recent posts so I figured I'd make one to see if anyone has any ideas.
