I've been working on this little display room box for over two months, although the time taken is actually only a week 😂 Took a while to figure out what to do with it! The room is made of reused cardboard from shipping boxes, the seaweed and corals are made of felt. It is perfect for my little silk cat dressed like a sunfish! The felt sea anemone ended up stealing the show however, I think it's super cute 🥰 I'm working on a forest themed box for one of the raccoon babies, so stay tuned for that one 🌿

Which do you prefer? I managed to get two versions of the floral cat family, one from the official Malaysia Sylvanian Families store (2nd pic) and one from AliExpress (3rd pic). I'm assuming the AliExpress one is a re-release or region specific set? I didn't like the clothes on the dad and baby in the first set, I kinda prefer the clothes for the whole family in the second set because there is just a bit more detail and they matched the clothes on the floral cat girl (last pic). I think I've managed to get the entire floral cat family which makes me very happy!! 😸😸😸

The official Sylvanian Families store in Malaysia is having a clearance sale and and are selling some really old stock on their Shopee Mall page. It was clear from the photos that there was some discoloration but I got them because I planned to repaint and customize them. I also got two of the babies because I wanted a five member family and they were from two different editions! Based on their boxes, 1485 and 5137, with 1485 being the smaller one and looks like an earlier version. I also didn't know the babies were not fully articulated. Now I'm trying to decide what pattern to paint them so that I can hide the discoloration, they look like they got punched in the face haha 😅 I adore them regardless. I was thinking of painting them like the ochre dogs but with a darker brown or black 😁 Any suggestions are welcome!! 😄

This is Pearl. Her sleeping face is always very entertaining. She is a full time sleeper, up to 23 hours or more a day 😂 She also has multiple cat beds but chooses the cardboard box most times.

She looks like an overripe white radish aaaa 😭😂 Her name is Pearl and I though this will suit this sub.

Cute aggression intensifies 😆😆😆 This baby Persian cat is dressed in the strawberry ice cream costume and looks so delectable 😭 I've got a soft plastic case from Daiso filled with pastel colored shiny pom poms as a little travel case for him! I can fit up to three baby figures in there but it's quite a squeeze by then 😂

I started on my collecting journey 3 months ago and was mostly focused on getting all the cats. Then I came across the Mulberry raccoons and got hooked, they are just so cute!! Raccoons are cat-adjacent enough for me so I went on the hunt. Managed to amass a few babies but had a huge heartbreak when I ordered two adults and a daughter figure only for the seller to send the wrong items... It was an honest mistake by them, the package was wrapped in opaque black bubble wrap and was the size of the raccoons. It was a cabinet instead. I returned the cabinet and was refunded but those raccoons had gone to someone else 😭😭😭 I do continue to order from them and they've never made the mistake again, back to using clear bubble wrap 😁

So I was elated when I saw two Mulberry raccoons from another shop!! One was actually mislabeled as a daughter figure 😅 Ah the perils of online shopping. So I turned one of them into the father raccoon and now my baby raccoons are no longer orphans 💖

I love the striped fluffy tails of the adults, and am keeping an eye out for the siblings!! The raccoons were quite worn out, especially the babies' markings, so I decided to do some touch ups with acrylic paint. I think it worked out alright! I might redo the face markings on the modern raccoons (the middle babies) to match the vintage ones.

Finally added some fairies to my collection and I can't get over how tiny and cute they are!! The hype is real 😆 I've got the Leaf, Flower, Mushroom, and Strawberry fairies and am waiting for the Water Drops of the Valley fairy with its little leaf boat, which will be arriving soon. The Leaf fairy came with a used Misty Forest Treehouse, which I'm in the process of fixing (it's missing all accessories except for 3 flowers!). I'm thinking of making little homes within the treehouse for each fairy themed around their name, lets see if that works out! In the meantime, enjoy the cuteness 💖

Little baby hedgehog, his little mole friend and beaver buddy are discussing the relatively fruitful tomato harvest. "Is tomato a fruit? Or vegetable? Shall we make soup? Or spaghetti?" 🍅 The little green cabbage frog is a random gachapon I found online.

The Baby Hedgehog Hideout is such a small and cute set!! However, I wish they didn't have a slide inside that took up so much space. I might do some drastic DIY and cut the slide out and redo the interior with clay and cardboard so more babies can hang out in the space. 😆

I finally got some beavers for my collection and I absolutely love them! It's the hiking set with the Woodbrook sister and baby boy that I got from KobeeJapan. I also happened to find another sister and baby beaver second hand from another seller. The sister had some damage to her face and her colour was also very pale, so I made her into a DIY experiment 😂

I always liked the look of the older vintage Waters beaver family with their richer, darker brown colour. I used acrylic paint, a mix of terracotta and vandyke brown, to get as close as I can to the shade of brown I wanted. The paint was watered down but not by too much as the coverage would become patchy if it was too watered down, and it would be too crusty if there was not enough water. 😅 For their noses I used terracotta colour straight from the tube and my smallest paintbrush. I started painting at the bottom of their feet to test out how the colour would look before painting the rest of the body in one go so everything will look even. Left them for a day to air dry and the end result was a little bit crunchy, similar to the painted areas of the maple cat's orange fur. It was an acceptable level of crunchiness to me, which I don't think you can avoid when using acrylic paint. One thing to keep in mind also is that acrylic paint will usually dry darker than it looks at first.

I also found the limp beaver tail unsatisfying and glued a piece of dark brown artificial suede to bulk it up a bit. I thought of adding a tail to the baby beaver but it would get in the way of his clothes so decided against it in the end.

For the baby boy, from the pictures online it looks like he has two front teeth in the Waters beaver mold, just that they were flocked over. I made the tiniest set of incisors out of watercolour paper (see the photo with the tweezers), painted it with titanium white for a warmer tone and glued it on and OMG I can't get over how cute the buck teeth made him look! Hope you enjoy this DIY makeover, I will keep the other Woodbrook beavers in their original colours but if I do find more second hand beavers I might repaint them and add front teeth to the babies as well 😆😆

I saw this on Carousell about a month ago and remembered that it came with three mice. I only started collecting in May 2026 so wasn't familiar with the different families but I really liked the look of the mice! I had issues with the Carousell app so thought I lost this forever, but then I found the them listed on Shopee this month!

I wasn't a huge fan of the Secret Island playhouse but I find that Sylvanian products don't seem to photograph well, either the contrast of the photos are too strong and you lose detail or the colours are off. When I got the set I fell in love with the whimsy of it, so many nooks and crannies to hide in! And the Thistlethorn mice are so cute!!! I like the shape of their snoots compared to the flatter modern mice. They were in pretty bad condition and wearing each others' clothes but I managed to clean them up and they look a lot better now (see last two photos). I will make a separate post about cleaning Sylvanians because I buy a lot of used, and fairly damaged figures and have been finding ways to get them spruced up 😊 None of the mice have tails so am thinking of ideas for that too.

I think the rest of the babies enjoy the playhouse very much. I had an extra rainbow fish that I bought before I saw this set so now there are two rainbow fishes!! 🌈🌈 I live in the hot, humid tropics and can see some UV damage on the playhouse. I plan to repaint it and add vegetation and stuff to make it look more jungly and by the sea. Added this to my list of more than 10 Sylvanian related projects hahaha! 🤣

This set was MYR 132 (approx USD 32) with free shipping so I think it was a good deal, especially since Thistlethorns are almost impossible to find here! 🐭 Along with the mice, it had the flag, the rainbow fish, and the goggles and pair of fins. Also randomly came with a piano chair and a child's school backpack 😂

I can't get enough of these two!! They are dressed in fan club clothes bought from KobeeJapan. The Charcoal Cat is from the Baby Shopping blind bag series and his little shopping cart is too cute! Midnight Cat is from the Kitten Cuties set. 😻

I found the parents from the Courtyard Home Gift Set in a second hand listing, I thought they were the floral cat version but turned out they are the silk cat mama and papa! Which worked out well as I have oodles of silk cat babies 😂 I love their outfits, and one of the silk cat babies happened to have a spotted mushroom hat too, also acquired second hand. I think they make the cutest family. Now I'm looking for a brother/sister with matching clothes for them 😁 I didn't have luck finding the original silk cat baby that came with the set, the search continues!!

The pig baby is so darned cute!! He came in a green romper which I did not like, but I stole the mushroom scarf off the crawling deer baby and it really helped to pull his outfit together 😁 The baby deer looks kind of outraged though 😭 I'll find/make something nice for them to wear as a replacement!! 💚

From sleeping 25 hours a day!

I got the red roof cosy cottage and decided to see how many cats I can get in there 😸 I did keep the bed, kitchen sink and table and chair set in, also added the washing machine that came as a free gift and a baby bunk bed from another set. Not included are the midnight cats (I'm planning a separate display for them) and tuxedo/charcoal/Marlowe cat family as I'm waiting for a few more orders to arrive! I also didn't include my two ivory cats and one Siamese cat...it is far too packed already. Also the big cats - snow leopards and lions weren't included here. I'm sure they were relieved 😌

Picture 4 is a customized floral cat dad with grey ears since I couldn't get a cheshire cat. He represents all us introverts in a full family gathering, dissociating and staring off into the distance, wondering when he can be back home in peace, in bed, and watching all sorts of random stuff on YouTube 😂

Edited to add that I started with one silk cat baby in May 2026, it was my first Sylvanian purchase ever and set the whole thing rolling!

Hi! I'm trying to find out more about this little rocking horse. It was sold as a rare Sylvanian Families rocking horse but only the cradle babies can use it, the other babies are too big to sit on it! Is there another figure that's supposed to go on it? My research hasn't turned up much so far, I bought it because it is so darned cute 🥹 Also, it has what looks like a sunflower seed around its neck, not sure if that is part of the original set! It says Epoch Co Ltd and made in China at the bottom. Any help is appreciated 🌟

Nothing fancy, just wanted to share a photo of the twinning lion cubs while I try to get through the work day 😂 I just love their giant ears!! Do you have a Sylvanian/Critter work/study buddy? They really do help lift the mood 😺
