225k Points in Husband's Amex Account
I would appreciate it if anyone was able to help me figure out a way to use my husbands amex points.
After a long illness, my husband has moved into a care home for end-of-life care, and I have now realised that we have a significant amount of points saved that I don't know whether I can access.
I am the supplementary cardholder for the account and have access to his account as well as Power of Attorney over him. My question is, how can I use the points in the account? My initial approach would be to transfer the points across to Avios, Hilton or Marriott, but I am worried that in doing so, the points will then be on his account under his name, and hence I won't be able to use them.
I have had a look and think that I could possibly use them in Avios either through their household account system or by transferring the points from his BA account to mine.
It would mean a lot if someone could help me answer these questions. Thanks!
