Would be grateful for any insights to doing a canoe trip - maybe 5 to 7 days - starting the first week of October in the St. Regis Canoe Wilderness (or nearby). I've done summer trips in the area only and while I have plenty of foul weather gear, I worry that there might be too much cold or rainy weather that time of year to make it enjoyable.
Hi all - wondering if anyone can give me a sense of just how "unimproved" the road is leading to the canoe put in at the lower dam on the Bog River.
Planning to canoe down to Low's lake but I don't have a 4x4, so wondering if the road is passable. Hoping that it's just a basic gravel road, but would love some confirmation.
I will be at Totem Point Lodge June 8-13 and decided (late) that maybe a guide for one day would be good just to get a sense of some hot spots. The Lodge recommends two guys, but they are already booked. Anyone know of any other guides in the area who work independent of the lodges?
Grateful for any tips on that and on where I can get a good nautical map of the area that shows depths.
