Confused about these two?

So it states in the databook, within Pinky’s section that Kirishima and Ashido have a friendly rivalry and share a firm friendship based on the courage to save others.

Now is this explaining their relationship in the future or what we already saw in the series.

If it’s the latter than thats pretty disappointing that they weren’t given anything to show their connection was still there after the timeskip, like KiriBaku, KamiJirou, and MomoJirou.
