Would you trust AI to help you choose a graduate degree?

If an AI tool could analyze your background, goals, and career plans, would you trust it to help you decide whether to pursue a graduate degree?

Not to make the decision for you, but as another source of advice.

Why or why not?

Former Google CEO booed by graduates after mentioning AI

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt was reportedly booed during a graduation speech after talking about AI and its future impact on work.

More students and young workers are becoming openly anxious about AI, especially around jobs, career stability, and whether certain skills will still matter in a few years. Do you think these fears are justified?

What do you think people are really worried about when it comes to AI and jobs?

What’s an AI-related problem that feels “small” today but could become huge later?

A lot of AI conversations focus on extreme predictions, either “AI will replace everyone” or “AI is just another tool.”

But I feel like some of the more realistic issues aren’t being discussed enough yet.

Things like people losing basic problem-solving skills, students relying too much on AI, companies expecting employees to work faster without higher pay, fake information becoming harder to spot, or people struggling to tell what’s real online anymore.

What’s something happening right now that you think could become a much bigger issue in a few years?

What’s one thing about AI and jobs that people aren’t talking about enough?

Feels like every AI discussion now is either “AI will change everything” or “AI is overhyped.”

But for people actually working day to day, I feel like there are a lot of smaller, real-life things happening that barely get discussed.

Could be job security, burnout, creativity, pressure to work faster, companies replacing entry-level roles, people becoming too dependent on AI tools, or even positive stuff nobody talks about enough.

What’s something you genuinely think deserves more attention in this conversation?

Your answers, insights, or opinions would really help with the research I'm working on.

I’m doing some research on career topics and wanted to hear directly from people here.

What questions do you have that no one is really answering right now?

It could be about finding a job, growing in your role, changing careers, dealing with stress at work, or anything else. Even small or very specific things are welcome.

What do you wish more articles or discussions would cover today?

I’d really appreciate any answers or insights you may have!
