Nostril, unsure about jewelry grade, screw bad, using saline, embedded overnight
Hi! I had this piercing done around 2 weeks ago (May 3rd). I had it done locally, and unfortunately didn't clarify with the piercer and was given a screw bar. I didn't find out how bad they are for healing until a few days later. I have developed an irritation bump over time due to constant snagging and movement even with me avoiding touching it and only using saline spray two times a day.
I had ordered a threadless flat back labret with a taper and was waiting on it to be delivered (it will be delivered today) so I could replace the screw bar, but this morning I woke up and the top stud was completely surrounded by red angry tissue to the point it wasn't visible anymore. I was able to push it out from the inside and keep it out eventually as it kept wanting to embed. The attached picture is how it currently looks after cleaning with saline spray.
I'm afraid it is too irritated to change the bar at this point even with the taper. Should I go back to the piercer to have it changed out, or is this situation looking bad enough to consider just removing it completely and trying again later?
For context, I had an irritation bump forming over time, but it didn't look too bad and was definitely not as angry looking as it is today. It was mostly just pink and much smaller compared to how it is today. Thank you!
